Ok , a temporary fix for me was to set the date back 4 days on your pc , oculus runtime working now until they submit a permanent fix :) also make sure to untick automatically sink date and time .

Hope it helps some .

I tried it last night and it worked but after reading people say it breaks more than fixes I'm a little scared to try again.

yeah I've turned back the clock before and it's caused all manner of issues so I'm avoiding that, will await a fix from Oculus.

Update:
Hey everyone - This is an issue with our software certification that we're still actively working on. For security, we use a certificate to ensure that the software you receive actually comes from Oculus. That certificate has expired, and we're looking at a few different ways to resolve the issue. We’ll update you with the latest info as available. We recommend you wait until we provide an official fix. Thanks for your patience.

Update #2:
Hey everyone - We're still working hard to resolve the cert issue. We're in the process of integrating an updated cert. Unfortunately, pushing the update out to affected users has some added complexity, as the expired cert blocks our standard software update path. We're working through the options now, and we expect to have more details to share later this evening.

That was yesterday, think Oculus are West Coast USA.

Just got the email about updating the client software, with them stating;

We’re very sorry for the disruption today. We’re providing a $15 Oculus Store credit (or currency equivalent) to people impacted by this issue. If you used Rift on or after February 1st, 2018 this credit will be added to your account automatically within the next 7 days.

:)

In all honesty there support is pretty decent , I had an issue with my CV1 —— one of the headset was faulty, sometimes it works and sometimes it was glitchy , not a big deal I could have fix it with a bit of soldering but decided to ask oculus if there is a know problem , they went through a few steps to see if it could be fix but ended up asking me to send it back to them , they sent me back a new CV1 replacement .

My old CV1 was nearly 2 years old , so was still (JUST) under warranty —- hats off to oculus :)
5 day turn around.

Anyone else getting CTD after oculus update/repair?
I now get a random jitter like a short screen freeze then it will run for a bit then black screen with sound still running and crash to launcher.
Only since the Oculus repair.

AAARRRGGGGGHH. Frustrating at times. I had everything going really well, no glitches at all. Bugger.
Thanks @MarcG I'll see how it goes over the weekend and then assess my options.

Thanks Gentlemen, I reinstalled the driver and software for Oculus and seem to have resolved this issue for now. o_O Not sure what went on but hasn't happened since reinstall. Fingers crossed. ;)

Using rift CV1, just installed the native google earth, had been using the steam version before. The native one is so much smoother to use...can only imagine what benefits a native oculus version for RF2 would bring us...too bad no effort seems to be put towards that.

We'll see how the upcoming performance updates help although I fully agree dedicated Oculus support would be better than SteamVR, for now add your name to the list below, the more the merrier and the more means S397 may consider it a future thing to do.
