By default in Documents/rFactor2/Userdata When you do a fresh install, these files would need to go except any replays, screenshots, etc in those folder you want to keep.
Well, in that case, yes I deleted everything everytime I did a fresh install. But like I said, sadly, without result...
Yeah, I was testing something and set it to low res and windowed. To me it seems that some files got corrupted. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
B1k3r, im not an expert but, since you delete everything and instaled again, makes no sense that you still have corrupted files. Unless it was system files get corrupted. I was thinking if maybe you reinstall your video drivers after a clean install of rf2 software. Sry if im talking about complete different issue but make no harm reinstall video drivers Ps: If thats is the problem, maybe its specific to a brand gpu or driver version that could be the same Tim got on email report
Lou mate ? you said above. Is there something I do not know, as I already stated I assumed if you had a userdata on C ( I don't) that you have one in rFactor2 as well. Ergo you must have 2 userdata folders, that is all I said. Either way I still do not see the reason or value of not having ALL userdata within rFactor2 itself. If someone just said yes I have 2 userdata folders would clear it up for me...then I would still ask why lol This also happens in GTL and GTR and Race ( non-steam version ) for some people, they have folders created in MyDocuments ( not appdata ) then through years I have seen people mention same about rFactor ..I just think wtf ? I am talking XP and Vista and W7 okay.........for all of those I INSTALLED THE OSes admin same name one user and never had these "extra" folders created. BUT ....I noticed on W8.1 and W10 this happened to me I got GTR ( GTL ) and GTR2 (GTR2) folders in docs !@! So I deleted the folders, swapped to admin and XP-SP2 compat. mode and walla no documents created. I suggest you can do the same for rF2 one way or the other.
Anyways, I ran a test last night, installed a fresh W7 image ( takes me 3-4 minutes) then installed rFactor2 to C:\Drive Booted a few mods , exited , checked Documents ...... nothing. Restored my image ( 3-4 minutes ) and reconnected my secondary drive with rF2 on it. It took me less time to do that then thread replies. lool pretty much...... W7/8.1/10 in rF2 4 years, I have never ever had rF2 create anything on Primary drive bar .rFactor2 and MasTemp folders. I just wonder why some people's systems do is all................ ...because, I can't get rF2 to create a "document" folder for love or money. p
Hmm, now i think i get what makes you think i have 2 userdata but im not sure if this is what you really trying to explain or it is what are bugging you and if i keep rumblimg i will make more confusion on this matter. If someone explain in better words i will just agree and quote answering: That is what i was trying to say. Like my father says: "Don't mess with the sleeping dog" (close enough in my head)
Crap......I cleaned and re-installed all video drivers.......cleaned rF2 and did a fresh install and still the same issue
OK, its 100% related to the last build. I found one of my old rF2 install files, version 946, installed that and all worked fine! So when I then re-installed the last build I get the same error.
Ok the major difference i see between yours and mine is "WidescreenUIWidth=1680" Try changing that to WidescreenUIWidth=-1 As that is what mine is running currently. The other differences are (Mine is running : 1600x900 windowed mode) ObjDetail=3 TexDetail=3 VideoDriver=0 VideoMode=19 VideoRefresh=0 WindowedMode=1 Borderless=0 RunBenchmarks=0 FSAA=39 VSync=2 UsePostFX=1 UseHDRProcess=1
I did a test with your settings except the 1600x900 and then with some different values but still same error. Thanks for your help
This very strange. Only thing i can imagine is conflict with gpu driver version and newest build. I would suggest to revert to previous gpu driver version but i dont want to make you wasting more time. Hope you get it sorted. Im always feel for people having config unique problems because when this happen to me it drives me crazy.
Tried a few previous rf2 versions and they all work. Only last build gives me this issue. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
