rF2 Build 218, Internals Plugin v5, Dev Mode 218 released

Now something really strange happened... I uninstalled rF2 but it kept core folders so I had to delete them myself... Then I installed new build, but all mods and cars was still installed

Looks like I'll have to try again... This is what I'm afraid of everytime new build is released. Something could easily get messed up.

I must say the rain drop effect is better with this build, but sadly the rain continues to appear inside the cockpit!

 

You have to delete core folders manually!

 

Tried again... uninstaller do not remove core folder!! Why?? It only removes a few folders in documents/rFactor, but not the main installation...

 

Yes I did so! But when I had installed new build, all mods was already installed. That has never happened to me before, and I guess it's not completely uninstalled when that happens

 

Performance is still not all that good. Hopefully optimisation isn't too far down the road (if it ever happens).

Trees and bushes look better now though!

 

Fantastic, hope it covers cockpit view also. To be honest I didn't think we'd get this for a LONG while, if ever.

 

Content Installer .torrent link still points to 'rFactor2_SamplerBuild_198' . 1 Gig fail for me

 

After installing the new update i started the game and noticed that i was missing 2 tracks for the ISR servers... downloaded both tracks and wanted to install them, and then this happened... took both of them out of the package folder and i still can't manage my mods.

Reisntalled everything from scratch and i'm still getting this !!!!!! WTF??? View attachment 7772

 

I put the rFactor2_ContentBuild_218 file into Updates and click Query but it only allow me download. Install button is greyed out.

 

Auto-update do not rely on built standalone installer, here are some files it should download (partial list) :

auto-update mechanism will also take some extra measures, removing and creating directories for example.

that's why you can't just put the whole .exe file under the update dir

 

Okay I had to remove documents/rFactor2 folder completely, too. It probably was the 'Installed' map that contains all cars and locations that caused the problem.

But if uninstaller won't remove neither core or documents folder, what is it good for?

 

Just did a run with the new build on the ISR Megane server. What a joy! I get great performance and I dig the new UI and HUD Awesome job devs!

 

Showroom looks 100 times better

 

I see some very nice improvements. To name a few:
- better reflection (lightning of the reflected objects)
- better rain ( no more surf boards)
- improved rain spray and no spray in cockpit (did a fresh reinstall, deleted all old stuff)
- much better overlays (looks like 2012 now and not 2005)
- default hdr profile works

Some bugs I have found
- Spinner view is messed up (no problem with that, driving view is nice )
- can't select a car mod in devmode, selection screen is black

 

Was the "Get missing components" option, when you're trying to join a game, there before? It doesn't seem to work yet though. Would be awesome if that would be implemented

 

I just told Jeremy. He told me on Skype initial rush was the problem.
