Good change. A system that can not be controlled is not a functional system.

Reputation points helped seperating possible trolls ( not that everyone with low rep would be a troll but yeah, in some occasions) from real helpers, but it is better this way still.

It's not only about negative reputation , it is about abusing it and give a negative rep' because some one,like me, doesn't speak English perfectly and other stupid reasons!
I'm very happy that this system isn't present anymore, so CdRacer can,finally, have a social life, because he was wasting a lot of time spreading negative reputation everywhere in this forum!

 

The reputation system itself can be useful if used correctly to 'tag' those members who contribute to the discussion in a way that others find useful. Unfortunately, it usually becomes, at best, a popularity contest or, at worst, a device for disruption, as it has been used here.

However, if you still want to use it without the negative points, change it in the Usergroup Manager.

Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager -> Edit Usergroup -> Can Leave Negative Reputation

I'm off to slit a body part, just can't believe what's been done here, we should have moved to the shiny Stars system.

Is there an opportunity here. To put in place a new system of esteem, a new shining Star that that becomes a beacon for all to aspire too.
Can we vote for a new order and wonderful things to come.....

1. Stars...move mouse on the name and they full up the screen in pretty sparkly happy shiny stars (perhaps the screen goes black and they shine up in a night scene)
2. Sounds ...click on the name and the more popular the longer the clapping goes for
2a. More Sounds...click on the name and you get the sound of Mazda Demio moving up to a Pantera V8 if you are very popular

Ok, so the reputation points that didn't really serve a purpose and people complained were useless, then complained when people were abusing the system, has been canned. No worries.

Can someone tell me how to remove a reputation 'notification' now that I can't get to the reputation section? I think? Always took me 5 mins to find it, but I'm pretty sure it's not there now...
