Will wait for the next time it isn't working, might be the problem but fail to see why. Anyway, this isn't happening in any other sim and I use a lot of them (iRacing, AC, ACC, AMS, AMS2, F1 2018 to 2020, Wreckfest (not a sim but still working perfectly) and even RaceRoom...yeah, I'm ashamed). rFactor 2 is the only one that creates this issues. I never use the screen of my wheel, might as well be a problem since some functions of this wheel are requiring a tool to run but I don't use those functions, so I don't run the tool...might worth a try as well.
Yeah, it might well be an rF2 problem. But at least if you can work out what it's related to, it's something they can look at. So far it's just an unknown.

Yes, there is, it appears twice but it seems to be "normal", it is the case on all PC I plug it to. I am building a completely new controller file for this device, I used a previous wheel's file and updated it for this wheel which seems to be the problem. Will keep you updated, problem is non existant when I select AZKeyboard.json so there should be something here that causes the problem. That being said (written ?), I have to kill rFactor 2 when leaving as well...and it can't be the wheel that is causing the issue since it is disconnected and removed from registry.
I think it comes from skins .... I just removed as many exterior skins as possible, and did a 2 hour run without blockages .... A run with the unique skins from S397 ... Too bad because I liked my realistic skins for offline races ....
I've read somewhere that this issue is known. I think there will be something like Trading Paints for iRacing soon or later that allows to use private skins and everybody will be able to use them if they want, if not they will just see default ones (which makes the game way less beautiful and realistic imho).
Well, problem again, I tried to launch without the wheel connected : no luck, still crashing to desktop. Here is the last trace file, if some dev read this one day...
i used new UI from november and it worked yesterday i switched to old UI today i return to new UI and i have ctd when launch rf2 i deleted all player dir but ctd again now steam is doing a verify and it download 1.3 gb now top work S397 EDIT: after verify and downloaded 1.3 gb i launched new ui build, i insert my name, click next and i have ctd. i return to old ui and it works fine
ok i've solved if you have a ctd on new UI, after manual fix or rf2 steam recovery before restart rf2 you need to disconnect your windows user for close all active process (no needed to restart system) after that rf2 works
Yep, already figured that, either there is a ghost process blocking, either a locked file somewhere. Problem is : why does it happen in the first place and why is there no trace in the...trace ?
