Hello all, With the new UI, I have almost all the time a crash to desktop after some time. Yesterday I was able to launch the game without issues, I just turned off my computer and turned it on this morning, trying to launch the game...no luck, crash to desktop. The only "fix" I've found is to revert to old UI, launch the game once, exit the game and try new UI again, which sometimes fixes the issue (not all the time). Can someone look at this behaviour please ? I was reporting it when in beta stage, I don't understand this problem survived in live version. Might be important as well but when closing the game, quite often it "freezes" and I have to kill the process, surely the cause of the issue preventing me from launching it again but I can't keep a frozen screen forever in hope it respond again after some hours.
PS : it seems I have ghost processes "rfactor 2.exe" as well, as if the game doesn't quit properly even with old UI...
I have the same problem, which I had already noticed during the beta, that's why I'm still using the old one ..
Yep, this problem was reported for more than a year now and still exists... I just reinstalled the game (actually I renamed my game folder which triggers game reinstall) but it didn't fix the issue. So I reverted back to my previous folder and rebooted the computer -> now it works...seriously, is there any logic with all of this ? And before someone suggest there is an issue with my computer, it is the only single program that doesn't work correctly, my rig is more than capable (i9 9900 KS, RTX 3090, 64 GB RAM, 8 TB SSD, Simucube 2, Rexing Wheel, Simtag pedals, 32/9 1440p screen, etc...). Something terribly wrong here...
is there any update on this ? There are a lot of ppl having the same issue, steam forums report it several times already and still no reply from S397... Can you help fix this issue or at least show us you are looking at it ? We are basically out of the game right now for no obvious reason...
reinstalled several times, the only possible problem I see is a workshop item blocking the game but can't detect which one, I should try to unsubscribe from everything in the workshop but seriously, this shouldn't happen, I should have a way to know where the problem lies... And no reply from devs, is there more urgent stuff to do than allowing players to actually play ?
Taking a look to your logs, it seems that you have many things installed. If you could do a clean install, you'd know if the problem is due to the content. I'd backup the rF2 folder, unsubscribe to all the non official content, uninstall the rF2, delete the rF2 folder and install it again.
Yep but it is "removing" for some time now, like 30 mn, maybe a bug and everything is already removed

@Yzangard The 3 Trace Files all end with Device Entries. Does the Game load when you unplug all your Controllers, except of Mouse and Keyboard? BTW To reinstall the whole Game is not necessary in most of the Cases, to not to say almost never.
