Released NEW! GT3 Pack - Now Available!

This is being looked into, at this time 3 out of the 5 GT3 Paid cars do not include or should I say, do not any have any means to edit glass, as the required files in the .mas file, which should be there so you can edit them, are absent.

PACO

I tried rain last night with the GT3's and the rain comes straight through the windshield so I'm thinking there isn't one. I would think it's coming with this new 'rain' update?

If the new rain effects are imminent, I understand that related parts might not work with current build while being adjusted to new technology as the Bentley video teaser showed.

Another way is to start the Race Weekend with 0 AI and then use the dropdown to add the AI you want.

And then there's always adding a Race Event...
Thanks for mentioning race events, I wasn't familiar with this feature. Looks like my rF2 experience just got much better, building BTCC event for a weekend :)

Please can someone help me understand why i have fps issues?
This is of offline session with 12AI cars.

As you can see, in top left corner i have
1st line fps : ~43
3rd line cpu cores load : really low around 25%
5th line gpu load (most right number) : low around 55-60%
5th line gpu vram load : around 2800mb which is high for my 1060 3Gb ram but still plenty of head room

To summarize, my pc is not used to the maximum , so why there is this behavior?

Settings (although i don't thing that they mean anything since the pc is not loaded)

visible vehicles 70????????
Test it like 13 and see a lot of improvement.
Also circuit detail to low(you will only lose the cartoonish crowd).
If you have had any screen freezes: make sure you change an option in your controller.json called "Use Thread" and set it from "false" to "true"
Also from simracing.club member
A good advice from me. Set max framerate to 180 or 181 fps and adjust your gfx settings so you can keep these framerates all around the track with 10-15 visible cars. That worked for me regarding stutter and tearing... i am running dx9 and vhud. GTX 1060, i5 3570k, 8 gb ram
Try also post effects to none.

Do you really need Lv3 AA running the game @ 1440p?

To both of you.
I repeat. CPU and GPU are not loaded so GFX settings are not to be blamed.
If i had 100% GPU or CPU , then yes, i had to tone settings down.
PC is not used as intended.
It's not the case here. Anything else?

Take note of the previous responses like 70 visible cars you'll want to tone that back for sure. May I suggest the follow might help.

Alt+Tab while in the pits, move white box over rFactor 2 to have Windows "focus" on the game, that is if you have not already done so. If you have a program to adjust your video card settings and overclock your video card, please grab the manufactures tools, then may I suggest you do the following, Download GPUZ and look at the maximum values your card will support, for example what is the MAX Power the card with allow 120%, 100% take note of these values like max temp 90C? these are just examples. Then go into your nVidia display control panel, find the rfactor 2 settings and set video card to use maximum power, not adaptive. then go into your video card overclocking software and set your max values you found in GPUZ. If you have good cooling you should be able to run 125% and push the card to almost 90C, If you hit 90C it will throttle back, so adjust accordingly.

On my video card the default was in the overclocking tool, 100% power and 80C . I went into my nVidia display control panel, found the rfactor 2 settings and set video card to use maximum power, not adaptive. I then, in my manufactures overclocking tool, I set the max power to 125% and max temp to 90C because that's what showed in GPUZ when I ran it. By doing these few items I was able to get better video card results.

Hope this help you,
PACO :)

I would prepay for the Nordschleife!!!:)
Yeah, that's a good idea. Money upfront could really make things come quicker to us, if you think about it.

Oh, and I just forgot: S397 need 30.000 USD to licence the Nords, PLUS some very nice amount of money to get the laser-scan data.

In any case, I think a 15USD DLC just for the Nords would help S397 and rFactor 2 to get a boost. However, I don't think such pricing is fitting for every single DLC they launch from now on. Although S397 are a smaller studio with more limited resources and thus need to charge more for every DLC, they need to find a good balance between content and pricing. There are already good simulators that offer the Nordschleife laser-scanned in 4 layout and 10 cars in a single pack, all costing 10 USD when on sale, so it won't be good for the long run of S397's business to charge too much for content other simulators already offer for cheap.

Oh, and none of this unfinished work either. We need content that is 95% ready when at launch.

Do the same test with the suggested settings.Post photos like you did.
When someone offers help you got to play your role too.
So run the test and post pics!

Maybe crowdfunding for certain projects would be a possibility to get them done in the right time and quality. Not just for s397 but also for idt and other very skillful modding teams. Nevertheless I am deeply impressed by all the work that has been done by this groups with very limited financial support. But I guess the times for free high quality content will come to an end because creating it consumes more and more time and other resources. And if that is true then paying should be ok to make things happen.
