forgot to remove a setting in steam upload. its public now or in a few minutes when steam approves it. By the way, I tried it on multiple tracks, but it crash at loading 100% at two tracks, spa historic and donington, could be for other reasons though. I must investigate. do you have same problem on these two tracks?
The FFB issue is fixed with this update. Thanks. Both tracks, SPA historic and Donington load correctly on my end with the Gordini. Another small issue. When driving at Ruapuna, there's a sand bank outside turns 1 and 2. When driving over the sand, it's like there are invisible obstacles. The car stops like it hits a wall. Maybe some weird collision at the front near the ground. There are no issues with other cars.
Thx for the feedback. The car doesnt have a collision mesh, yet, so its probarly an issue with that. I'll try it out.
@Bernat I found out the undertray points was way off, so have fixed that. Have not checked it, but will later. Will be in the next update.
Yeah I know but haven't found out why. Because when sliding they heat up as expected, they just cool down way too quickly. I have fixed the radiator, so at full open it goes to about 90 celsius. Though closing it up does not affect it much... There are still alot to work out. I'm also testing the new sound system. The new suspension works great but, the car have lost it's characteristic feel, and it now drives like its on rails. I have been working on finding a suspension setting where it gets that feel back. I have found some of it but I doesnt know if it have reintroduced the FFB noise. I have a direct drive wheel where it actually hides some of that. I can pack a test version if any of you wanna test and report back about the FFB?
Yes, indeed, it does not skid on bends (no over bends) and this should be an obvious feature, of course! I trust you, you have reproduced the original car so well, graphically.
updated steam version with current state and with a "testcar" which have been fitted with new sound system (some sounds missing) and test on suspension.
Think I found that "good feeling" suspension again. Will upload a new version tomorrow evening. It has that loose old steering feel, and a good amount of softness, yet it's easy to recover, and you can throw it into the corners. But unfortunately it has a little "loose damper" noise I can't find a fix for. Looking forward to hear if the FFB "noise" is acceptable. Will post when its ready tomorrow.
New update v.0.81.6 updated both on steam workshop and on racedepartment. Main update - suspension. - new sound system. - more details in the cockpit dash. As mentioned above, there is some "loose damper noise" in the FFB. Probably some damping calculations that may be wrong, because I haven't used the physics sheet. Please report back if it's acceptable FFB noise, also on other wheelbases than DD. Edit. Maybe I have limited the setup values too much.... The suspension is too soft now. will reintroduce some antirollbar. Get it here https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/renault-8-gordini.59951/ And at steam https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2969580318
Last night after I released this version, I tested it some more, on all sort of tracks. At certain tracks AI twist the suspension to extreme. Probably because I removed the anti roll bar, and it have become too soft. Will test it further, and when I find a solution I will update here.
Updated on steam to v.0.81.61 - small fix reintroduced front sway bar, and changed default setup settings. Ring Knutstorp
another update v.0.82 - added multiple small details to exterior, like hood springs and side position indicators etc. - Moved to subcategory of renault. - made a more detail AI class name. - small sound fixes. - Added real historic livery names to those I could locate. - wiper adjustment - chrome details in dash. - more fiddling with physics. available at steam workshop and racedepartment https://forum.studio-397.com/index....rsion-beta-released.36122/page-9#post-1126482
Here is a link, the template is for gimp. dont know if adobe can open xcf format. Updated link to include psd file https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hGmMCSAlEO1mSOzC9lJ1dQoEM_aat8Zj/view?usp=sharing I cant figure out how to include it in the steamworkshop.
PhotoShop doesn't recognize .xcf PaintShop Pro recognizes .x3f I don't know what export conversions GIMP has.
try the new link above, I have tried to export to psd, but cant test if it works since I dont have photoshop.
