You can edit Player.json file with notepad. You can do that to controller.json also. Both are at rfactor2/userdata/player There is this line in player.json: "Start Engine":true, "Start Engine#":"Whether to automatically start engine", But that is true by default. Do you leave the game in normal way (leave track, exit)? Does the game shut down without crashing?
I will check that and report if anything is different. I leave the game in a normal way like you have mentioned and without crashes.
You can reinstall rfactor to C:\users\(your username). That should fix permission problems if i remember right.
There is no other way than saving it offline for me since I didn't purchase MP subscription (for now)
No can do Not enough space on the C drive. I think i am gonna try this: 1. Right click an affected folder. 2. Click Properties. 3. Click the Security tab 4. Click the "Advanced" button. 5. Click "Change" next to Owner. 6. Type your username, click the "Check Names" button, then click OK. 7. Check "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects" under the owner's name. 8. Click OK again. If you get a message saying "Do you want to replace the directory permissions with permissions granting you full control?", click "Yes" and you're done. 9. Click the "Edit" button. 10. Click on your username from the list. 11. Check "Full control" underneath it. 12. Click OK. 13. Click OK again.
Well if you change a controller setting you save it to a new profile and load it. Next time you start offline it will be loaded with the correct adjustments. If it isn't, you are doing something wrong.............
Yes I save it with a specific name...for instance "Test" and it always reverts back. But if I save controller settings while I am on the track (lets say Silverstone) with a selected car (lets say Skip Barber) it will save that setup for that combination. If I restart the game it's still there and I don't need to do it again. It saves that preset. But if I go into the main menu and try to configure FFB multiplier there it will revert back to 1.00 as soon as I exit the game or select the combination of a track and a car which I haven't played.
Ah yes I see what you mean now. Yes it does do that a few peculiarities Though if you double check everything and always re-save changes before you leave a session you should be okay.
I agree with above, it look like you are having a permission issue on your folder "Player" or your Player.Json What you are telling is really not like we are having on our own. You couls try deleting the player.Json, next time tou start the game, the game will re-generate a file from default. Maybe that will fix your problem ! Concerning your stalles engine, does it happen to other car ? Or just kart?
Car specific multiplier will save if you make separate profiles for all sorts of cars. If you go to launcher/options/settings/ control and load different profiles and watch you will set FFB multi and other settings change. If you do that offline in launcher first then Launch single Player it will stick all sessions all cars A few things like yaw , look ahead, head physics and vibration don't save as far as I can tell but the rest will. As for ignition and starter some cars, use both, some don't. Like ASR you can't use a starter. Go Karts do not have batteries, but on the other hand we don't have push or rollerstarts either. So no ignition is more realistic option.
OK ! Found it ! You just found a Bug with the Kart man Remove the TC.... that is the TC that is probably trying to cut some power during your spin and stall the engine. I did exactly like you did in your video, and it was only with the TC that it happen Medium and High that happened. Try with LOW or none and come back I cannot help with your control problem
What you listed will probably do it, but if you have more than just the C drive you could also just install the game to another one instead. Generally that avoids all the permission issues (at least until you reinstall windows and it thinks those folders were created by another user.. but then you can just edit them the same way). Installing to a different drive, in whatever folder you want, generally just works without such issues. Good spotting I hadn't even thought of TC. Explains why our league races never had issues, we disabled TC.
I presume reinstalling the game on the same drive won't solve the problem? I only have C and D drive.
Well when I restart the game I can see my saved preset but FFB multiplier is being reset. So this means I have to change it and save it again.
