Just bought Rfactor 2 and have some questions

I am amazed how responsive you guys are! :o

This is the first case after many years that people are constantly trying to help me!

Thank you guys, really! Appreciated very much!!!

I have found an interesting issue. If I mark the exe files (both 32 and 64 bit) game won't launch...anyone having the same issue?

Ok, I will try to recap your control problem just to have it clear.

When you launch de game and you set your FFB multiplier too, let say, 1.2, if you quit the game and restart it another time, the FFB multiplier is back to 1.00.
And we are talking from the same CAR right ?

So if you set it to 1.2 on the F1Karts next time you launch the game, the F1Kart will be back to 1.00 is that correct ?
If yes, does it happen to all thing ? Like if you are changing your driving aid ? you graphic ? your session setting ? or does it happen just for the FFB ?

(By the way, I reported the bug via email to support for the Kart)

1. Yes, exactly like that.

2. It happens only to the FFB multiplier (XBOX360 gamepad user btw).

3. Thank you! ;)

Are you sure you are not switching car or track when it resets? I think there is an annoying "bug" that the FFB multiplier is tied to the mod, so when you select All Tracks & Cars and later load another mod from the mod picker, the FFB gets reset. I have never heard of it getting reset just with a game restart.

Yes I am sure. Tested right now and FFB resets back to 1.00 every single time I restart the game.

Do you really select exactly the same car (same skin / number)? IIRC vehicle specific settings are mostly tied to a specific vehicle instance.

I just exit the game and I launch it again. Therefore the same car and the same track is selected. Nothing changed.

FFB multiplier is being reset in the main menu and when I enter the track. I have to select manually the preset I have saved.

With proper drivers yes (that rumble effect) :)

Ok, I just took a look for the FFB multipiler is saved by car into a file name "all_vehicles.ini" located in the "Userdata/player"

you can open that file with a notpad and take a look. Car are divided by car number/skin and the value for FFB MULT is: FFBSteeringTorqueMult=1.000
I suspect that the file is in a kind of locked state and RF is not able to save the file. you could try to edit the file and put a different value or you could just try to delete the file and let the game re-create it.

The most annoying bug is when you make a new mod resets weather patterns.

5 clicks to set weather all the time is among the silly things.
You should be able to save pre-determined sets and apply them to any track automatically ........not endless clicks.

Every practice session from every track must have the same realroad but you can alter RR wear between sessions.

Other things it saves or changes in Race settings can make setting up online mods with a lot of tracks a hassle for no good reason.

I mean compared to weather, FFB resetting is nothing, you can easy check as soon as you join a room.

Weather you cant change by rebooting.

I think I got it with your help m8! I have found a replaced all FFBSteeringTorqueMult=1.000 with FFBSteeringTorqueMult=0.080 and checked that file to "Read only" and it seems it's working!

Have to do more testing and will report you when I will know it for sure!

Thanks a lot m8! Respect!!!

good.

I guess that if you put it in read-only rfactor will never be able to make change to the file.
Inclunding FFB multi, but also mirror and setadjustement.

you should try to make the file that rf IS able to write to it.

The is probably your problem. When you make a change into the game, when you exit, rFactor write to that file. Next time it launch, it read from it. But if the file is locked/read-only when you exit, rF can't write the change into it. so next time you launch, it read the valu from last time.

I can confirm this method is working. But a reminder to those who are having the same problem. As soon as you ad a new mod you will have to manually change FFB multiplier in that "all_vehicles.ini" file. Thanks guys for helping me! ;) With that problem is solved ^^

Btw...even if I put that file in "Read only" rF is reverting it back by disabling "Read only" function. But it doesn't revert manually changed settings so it's all good for now :)

Another question guys. Is it possible to enable false start and where? :)

You can do a false whenever you want, just go before the lights go out. Nothing has to be turned on for that. ;)

If you mean turning on penalties for false starts, it's in the race settings menu.
