Released July 2022 Release Candidate Now Available

Has really nobody checked the new BTCC-cars with the current "RC"-candidate? Both undrivable 'thanks' to the new brake-sound:eek:
How can this crap passes any QC?
Really needs to be sliders so the user can set audio to preference as not many studios seem to get this right.

The 255 is probably since the Q2 update, not this RC, as I tested this prior to the RC following a report and found the same. It looks like a UI bug as it can be set to 256 in the .json and the game accepts it.

Ultimately 1 less sound out of 256 will probably make pretty much no difference you'd ever notice.

thank you. and about the sound of formula pro? it´s a bug?

Are the audio settings going to stay as limited as they are now? Being such a modded sim and some content rather old and not seemingly getting updates some of the audio is rather off. It would be great if the user could adjust things like other cars (Ai), wind and tyre levels to their preferences if the modders won't or can't update it.

I understand the developers want to set audio to just work at a realistic level but being a modded sim I think more adjustability at the user level is required.

Hi Should this have fixed the screeching breaks? As it I still have the screeching breaks in the BTCC cars using the release candidate and after the update?
Best wishes
Bob
Hi Bob

Yes, it should - can you please double-check to make sure the update came through correctly? Should be version 1.11 on the Infiniti and 1.13 on the Corolla

Hi
Thanks for the reply
What I did was
  • started rfactor 2 (it reported several steam updates)
  • Tested with the release candidate
  • I still had the screeching with the release candidate
  • I returned to the no beta tested again
  • Had no screeching.
  • I then reapplied the release candidate.
  • Tested for the third time and the loud screeching is still there !
However I did not actually verify any version numbers of rfactor 2 and the BTCC cars.

Can some one advise what version rfactor 2 should be with with the release candidate (mine is 1130 I think. but I am not at me sim computer at present) I note above the BTCC cars should be 1.11 and 1.13

Also could someone advise what I should do if the versions are incorrect. As all I do normally is updates automatically as steam /rfactor 2 starts
Best wishes.

Bob, make sure you're running the correct version of the cars (1.11 and 1.13 like you've noted). I just tested this and heard the screeching brakes, but I was running the older version of the cars. I had joined the CS open BTCC server and that rfmod uses the older version cars and I still had that selected. When I went back and selected "All cars and tracks", I was able to select the latest version of the car and had no more screeching brakes.
