Question is can we control the onboard TC and ABS on the fly while on track? That would be the point.
Another question is does the dynamic road temperature change the tire behavior depending on the tire pressures? And how should we imagine this? The track gets hotter only under the racing line or the whole road surface will be hotter during the race?
I like the changes. However seeing all those new penalties I wonder if the game will be broken for months or years because circumstances they were not prepared for in the code. I mean S397 still haven't fixed the stock car rules. I hope they developed the new features regarding the penalties in big part for the overhaul of the CS and not just the esport events.
Nevertheless GG!

Interesting new RC!
I thought for track temperatures to work we would need a whole new tire model and the introduction of track temps could possible break all the mods (I think marcel said something like this years ago).
Guess he was wrong, or the new GTE and LMP2 tires already have such a feature without it being mentioned in the changelog ;)

Anyways, with this, the GTE become outdated again because they have not the latest ABS/TC features.
Never ending story to get everything up-to-date :D

In the known issues section, they mention one of the ABS/Locking lights doesn't turn on. This means the extra lights that had been cloned to match the max rpm lights now appear to be functioning as intended? Of course no time right not to investigate. Thanks S397, looking forward to digging into this RC.

Now featuring track temperatures that change dynamically based on both weather conditions and the cars circulating and driving over it, Real Road 2.0 offers a major uplift to the realism levels of rFactor 2.

LoL, I just predicted this less than a week ago!

Wait, rF2 has static track temps? https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/very-dissapointed.58919/page-2

Considering they recently implemented dynamic grip levels on wet tracks, dynamic temps shouldn't be too far in their development priority list..

Man.... Oh man.....

Dynamic temperatures alone might completely refresh rF2 experience. It was already the most dynamic sim out there, but with this it is going to be next level, surely I think it is rightfully being called Realroad 2.0.

Can't wait to test it out thoroughly. The most interesting part to me was that RR will react to shadows. This means that it should be doable to also tie it to drying, perhaps in Real Road 3.0 haha.

Apart wet weather, wet road. It will be really interesting to try low ambient temperatures. Should provide very interesting different experiences. Also technically it should make different tire compounds a real decision which to use. As track surface will be quite hotter than it used to be, in most of the times. Especially in shorter tracks, where cars drive through same piece of real road more frequently - thus putting more heat into it.

Please remind me, till now fixed surface temp used to be 25degs of Celsius ? I don't remember. Thats relatively low temp. assuming on average that would be ambient temp of races around the world, but then the tarmac would get quite hotter due to sun and heat transferred from racecars tires. Perhaps it really was not that outstanding that softest compounds forever worked well if they just were durable enough.
