That's right! We're very happy to confirm that rFactor 2 will be joining rFactor 1, and available on the Steam platform in the near future! This is an exciting step for us, as it exposes our software to a much wider audience, an audience that we think is beginning to appreciate simulations more than ever before.

We've put together an announcement trailer, we hope you enjoy it! (Yes, there are some tasty previews of the Stock Cars... When will they be released? You'll be racing them this weekend!)

    Thanks, great news.

Will mods be handled by Steam workshop?

Very very nice trailer! One question. Does the move to Steam mean i have to use steam in future to play rF2 or is it just a new possibility where it can be bought?

Great Stuff !!! Hopefully rFactor2 now will get the attention that its deserved.

I noticed a change in ISI information politics, reading this ''When will they be released? You’ll be racing them this weekend!''
Thats something I defintely do LIKE !;)

Be ready for an influx of frustrated drivers struggling to keep cars on track, install mods, set up the Sim and asking lots of questions, both here and on Steam. I hope we can all welcome them and be as helpful as possible.... especially the guys on here who seem to have been around forever and whom I consider experts on rF2. Same goes for server admins, lets make it as painless as possible with getmod working etc. This way I am sure we will see a big boost in pick up racing numbers.

First I would like to tell that this is a good move and MAYBE bring more drivers to rF2 but.... I hope that IS give now more attention to graphic features because rF2 don't need comments on steam as we have seen and still see telling that its an outdated game...

But I really hope this gives more driver to rF2.

    Congrats

Great news--if online racing works well and is user-friendly and idiot-proof. Otherwise, better to wait until that is in place. rF2 needs to be exposed to a broader audience, but there is also the possibility that the Internet mob/masses will get frustrated very quickly with the un-intuitive UI and fiddling with graphics and FFB settings that are often required. Even the big titles get trashed for some things where they are miles ahead of rF2. Not sure how the marketing can be focused on the niche who are similar to those here in this forum, generally willing to put-up with detracting "features" in exchange for the superior simulation elements?

It's like sending your child off to school. Full of hope and pride, as long as they don't get beaten up by the schoolyard bully.
