No worries, it was a boring week with a lot fences and my job as brewer needed me more due to a sick colleague. So I had a bit weird hours and wanted to spend max time on the project aside of forums . The main straight has an amazing FOV, it feels very realistic. Shots are taken directly from the car nose cam. The moment you change T1 shaders to PBR And some tweaks all around to avoid static looks. Early this week I dropped my progress on the pit lines in my Discord server Not done yet but here is a quick look.
More about the start grid and pit lines: On my references I found 59 start grid lines, 44 garage boxes (I added yellow dummy lines for now). There are the non box walls as well I basically can use, depending on the event I might create more 3D pit box placeholders. Real life they add tape, or just nothing in fact. One garage box can have two cars, so 88 would be possible for events. Some people said 104 is the max but that would be overkill I guess. At the rear there is a huge paddock area, so there is always place for more. Some references showed two cars behind eachother in a box as well, that would be 132 places.
Finished up the superbike grid. #detailsmatter Final texture is for later, it's saved as PSD so can edit as desired.
It's 3 at night, wild days lately but before my sleep I wanted to get this pit lane entry done. For those interested, the cloned road mesh has a brother in my project with 100 times more poly, that is what you see under the green grid decals. It was done to match those decals and all white lines perfect over the track. In 3dsmax, the conform (snap to other object and decide how much away or onto it is) was really handy for this job. Fuji and a car. Fuji and a car with painted asphalt. The red and white is a 60% color on 40% alpha BC7. The white is still to wide compared to real life but the space between them matches it. Will do the texture upgrade later. It works for now and I can get my sleep
Time for some updates here, a lot has happen on Fuji but I still need to import it in my 3dsmax scene and the Moddev game Also last two weeks I went all in to do a big update on the Porsche Cayman GT4. When it comes to Fuji, I mainly made new 3D to seed the Paddock and entry details. If you follow my discord you will have seen all this updates a few months ago.. The amazing Fuji Hotel, I want to go there once in my life also to visit the museum at bottom floors It looks simple in Blender but wait till you see the PBR come to life on all 3D I show here.. A very low poly new public area, yup they are building it right now and I was even getting plans from it.. The above was a first test, afterward I got the architect plans and made the building exactly the same in scales and shapes. So the above was still not done as it should. Together:
Look twice, you will be able to have a small drive thru the paddock. Why not Last image to show the details, together with some guys we did search 3 days to find references for it...
