@Mauro @Postipate Thanks for the replies. It was quite some time ago, but I remember the readme alone frightened me. They said they changed the physics, and they finally lost me when I saw that they removed cars. Considering this, I didn't bother going further than the showroom (so I certainly missed the updated graphics), because someone who removes cars this way definitely can't be doing a good job
A beautiful Lotus 79 onboard in revival event at Laguna Seca. Lot of correction and trottle lift. But much fun
I can be wrong, but side skirts are banned and removed in these races for ground effect cars. Nice video! I love his driving
Some criticize a mod (free work, hours, days and months dedicated to a passion of the simulators) Asked them: How many mods did you make or did you convert?...to criticize as an expert! Download the mod? Test it?
Server is updated with new tracks. Server Settings Server name: F1_1979_Official_Server Fuel usage: Normal Tyre wear: Normal Damage: 50% Auto Clutch on Practice: 60 min. Qualify: 10 min. Race:15 min. Tracks: Portugal GP and Monte Carlo 66. LiveRacers: http://fun2race.liveracers.info/Live/?server=F1_1979_Official_Server
Well, I did quite a few tracks, worked on cars too, so I know quite well how it is to get criticism. But nice try dude.
Okay...So that enables you to criticize something, without having tested it! "Congratulations, you're an expert"
I don't think I claimed to be an expert, you're the one sarcastically calling me one. I asked a simple question to the people working on the mod, they replied, it's the point of a forum. Next try you try the "how many mods did you make", you'll look less silly if you make sure the guy you ask indeed never modded before.
Ok, just tried to join the server with 1966 Monte Carlo, download starts, then stops, says "Bad File Discriptor", what up with that ?
Ok, thanks Ari, again if anyone wants to convert them, I have all 15 79' rF1 tracks zipped up, be happy to send them they looked quite good in rF1.
Well we got already version that are atleast near, but a close enough. Mostly we miss the Brazil and United States, so if somebody wants to converted they should start from them Argentina (converted rf1) Brazil (no 1979 version?) South African Grand Prix (kyalami 1976) United States Grand Prix West (no versions of long beach?) Spanish Grand Prix (Converted rf1) Belgian Grand Prix (Converted rf1) Monaco Grand Prix (1988 mod) French Grand Prix (Converted rf1) British Grand Prix (1975 version) German Grand Prix (1988 mod) Austrian Grand Prix (some version seem to be there) Dutch Grand Prix (Modern Zandvoort atleast there is) Italian Grand Prix (1988) Canadian Grand Prix (1988 mod) United States Grand Prix (some versions there is, but havent tried)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1979_United_States_Grand_Prix_West http://f1pulse.com/racecard/Long_Beach_Grand_Prix_1979/3D3C3D/race_card_qualify.aspx "With only Ferrari and Renault on Michelin tires, Villeneuve was able to use seven sets of qualifiers in the final session, while the Goodyear runners had only two sets per car. On his final charge, Villeneuve switched off his rev limiter at the end of the straight, raising the revs by 200 to 12,600 and giving him enough extra speed to pip Reutemann by six hundredths of a second. Scheckter was third, ahead of the two Ligiers of Patrick Depailler and Jacques Laffite, then Mario Andretti in sixth." Quite badass
