I have lunched new F1_1979_Official_Server_1 which is running S397 tracks Server Settings: Server name: F1_1979_Official_Server_1 Fuel usage: Normal Tyre wear: Normal Damage: 50% Auto Clutch on Practice: 30 min. Qualify: 10 min. Race:15 min. Server is using Noel Hibbart`s GetMod service LiveRacers: http://fun2race.liveracers.info/Live/?server=F1_1979_Official_Server_1
I would add great sounds. This mod makes me want to buy proper wheel and shifter. Thank you Postipate!
Excatly what I was thinking too, want a good wheel but not break the bank, seems TMX Pro and CSL Elite are worthy.
If you want cheap get used g25 or g27 Atleast in finland they are now around 100€ and still playable. Now I have T300+Fanatec ClubSport pedals and its much better, but you wont miss them against G27 if you havent used them.
Want to thank you all who has drived last weeks. Everyday there is atleast 4-10 players racing at same time and players almost all day. That's more than I ever hoped for! Thanks for Ari Antero making this server!
Hosting this mod is huge pleasure and I am having good time online almost every day with some awesome guys. It is me who owns you big thanks for all time you have spend and fantastic work you have done with this mod.
Between life stuff I got wheel setup and ran a few laps at SaoPaulo -- Great exhilarating laps, you've done a great job on these updates! The adrenaline kick I've missed while flying was much appreciated. I must do more!
more i try different cars, more my appreciation to this mod grows. i been driving the front wingless cars (brabbham, alfa) in past few days. wasn't expecting them to work really, but the physics engine in this game is magic, because they feel great too! just very different. nice to see that the cars are different and require different setups to make them quick. lots of cars still to conquer. lots of fun for long time. love it! dang! you (postipate) must have had a HUGE workload to test, and tweak all the cars. it's really amazing that they all feel this great. i remember from rf1 that they all felt different too, but i think they are even more different now. Fantastic!!!
by all means there are actually lot of "little" things that i love about the mod. the fact that when driving with right foot braking (heel/toe), the brakes are very efficient, but when left foot braking (while on throttle at the same time) that ~1:1 power/weight ratio eats up the braking power quite a bit. it makes driving these cars among "left footers" a blast because you will stay relatively competitive still, and the difference in laptimes doesnt get too big between the 2 driving styles. you really nailed the brakes perfectly! kudos for that, seriously! the shifting delay for sequential shifters versus h-shifter is another thing that i love. I cant express how much i appreciate things like this taken into consideration. i still seem to loose about 0.1-0.15 seconds in every up shift against most people. but it has more to do with them not lifting properly, than the shifter difference it self. The front wingless cars have very nice balance with the ground effect and the rear wing. with 4-8 wing i really dont have to adjust the rear much to keep it in check. the click "size" or steps are pretty nicely in balance with each other at least for that 4-8 wing spectrum. for tire pressure, height, and camber, roughly 1 click each for 2 wing clicks, in same (track) conditions seems to do the job. that's impressive, it must have taken ages to get it to work in harmony like that?? or was it luck? c'mon you can tell me but seriously, good job on that aswell. anyways, i know youre on your vacation, so enjoy and stop reading the forums
@elbo Funny one... but there was no sequential gearbox in F1 before the early nineties! P.S.: By the way, and even if I haven't been able to test it... damn stutterings/dx11/fullscreen... huge thank you @Postipate
