Steam did the 0.93update yesterday and then the hotfix update of today and installed as 0.935 version of cars in launcher. When I go to a server, Silverstone test, the launcher starts downloading all the cars again? Shouldn't they already be there after 0.93 and the 0.935 hotfix update?
Tried briefly yesterday, the first impact is very nice, the only "complaint" I can express it about default setup, the car look in general very very very understeery, but I bet with some practice time everyone will get the desired results, this is an issue only under the perspective of quick races / fixed setup races. Apart this, I think this MOD will convince a lot of people to try RF2, just like the '79 mod convinced me (and many others) to buy RF1 many years ago. Thank you again for your dedition to this mod.
Hello! On what tracks you think cars are too understeering? could you try to brake bit earlier and not to carry too much speed to corner? It could help
Hello, yes, probably it's my fault, because I'm used to modern formula and trying hard to improve my poor performances with them, the disconnect is that those cars are pretty fast on the straights.. but obviously I can't expect the same in corners. The problem is that if I turn too much the wheel, I would expect to spin instead to go straight. If I'm not wrong, I should try to upset those car entering a turn, and then throttle my way out. I just find hard the initial upset. The track was ISI bathurst, with a lot of rubber on it. But i'm confident that 99% is my fault.
Yeah it hard when you are used to other cars. I used be very good with bt20, and now i have big problem because my braking points are wrong and I "understeer" every corner very much. Practice is key word here BTW. I have problem to set up server with steam version (hopefully to fix it) and make server where I could help people to drive. also would be quite awesome to drive some races with many people. Is anybody intrested if I make it happen?
Thanks man, love this mod, so realistic, the red line RPM abuse ends up on overheating, fantastic job
If you can manage to put on a server with few tracks, and those cars, I'm sure it will see a good flow of drivers.
Thanks! Hey.. Now trying to figure this server problem I have. Seems like many people have problems with steam version and hosting server. I was able to join my server, but with quite strange solution. No help with opening ports from router etc.. Problem is that i cannot see server on matchmaker well.. Read that you can get old serverlist opened with following: Get launcher from steam file and make shortcut of it. Then go to properties of that shortcut file and add to target field: "G:\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Launcher\Launch rFactor.exe" +connect1 Save it and launch it. You see old serverlist and many many more server that on steam version.. There i found the server and was able to join Is anybody able to find the "F175" server with steam matchmaker when im now on server? EDIT: https://world.rfactor.net/server-list here i can find my server, but it shows there is 0 players even im there allready.. EDIT2: Not working... I try tomorrow to figure this out. F1SR F175 test uses wrong version, so you cant use it right now. Hopefully they update it soon.
This mod is such a treat and so fun to drive. Thank you. This car needs a league because it deserves it.
Im working on LE version soon! I would love to race with HE version online with full field. Maybe im only one, but that would be quite awesome to have realistic performances with cars. Btw: Is anybody interested of Tyrrell Six Wheeler (p34)? It was not part of 1975 season, but cockpit is updated by Chiefwiggum.
I would imagine simulating the drag and weight balance physics on this car would be interesting? While the the smaller front tires were thought to improve drag, they also made the rears more proud in the air stream. Was this drag neutral? I am also sure the extra front suspension added weight and the narrow front track created antiroll challenges. Will the contact patch monitor reflect 4 fronts?
Atleast info I found on web said, that smaller tires had less contact with ground but drag was reduced. I would imagine more weight to front also Most likely rF2 will think this car has normal 4 wheels. Not sure about that. I only had time to test it 1 lap.
