Released Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans (2018) is now available!

Sebring tarmac is perfect

Sebring tarmac is extremely successful. Incredibly detailed.
The textures are superb and realistic.

I also believe that the few trees that there are are in 3D.

The details of the track are extremely numerous too.

The 2D textures of the grass are average, however.

Le Mans is just the opposite.
Sand and grass are worse.

Sebring tarmac is perfect

Are you talking Textures or FFB? As the textures are just life real life IMO, the FFB will be different as Sebring is much much more bumpier than Le Mans so it makes sense that the latter feels smoother.

@MarcG i play usually max when doing hot lap.
its is just the fact that rf2 lacks graphic clarity so everything looks weird and not so natural compared to other games

rF2 is not natur simulator it is driving simulator.
Well S397 sure are doing quite well at the nature simulation as per my comment saying how much better rF2 trees look compared to iRacing trees!
But anyway if it's only a driving simulator why are S397 trying to improve graphics?
I was under the impression rF2 was trying to simulate racing! Hence the need for realism on the graphics side as well as the driving, FFB and Physics side.
But hey, you use it as a driving sim, drop all your settings to low and use a small low res screen,or do you actually care how it looks?

It's generally a bad idea to judge textures by YouTube videos, especially those showing many games side-by-side. There is firstly the mysterious YouTube compression involved, which affects various games differently. Then we also don't know the game settings, for example the iRacing video above has extreme blur, which I suspect is not from the game itself, but due to some combination of AA, AF, game recording and YT compression.

If there is one area where neither iRacing or rF2 Le Mans looks right it would be the trees IMO. iRacing trees look like they are self-lit, it's incredibly obvious the lighting is static and the textures are used to make it look like the upper part of the tree is more "lit", but end result looks faked. rF2 relies much less on fake texture lighting of trees, which makes things look a bit monotonous. The one complaint I have with rF2 Le Mans trees is that some of them are not in the right place, proportion or size, as for example at 0:33 here.

They fixed that group of trees afaik

I don't get who complains about how Le Mans looks in rF2, imho, it's the best looking track we have now. Yes, the trees can be better, i personally find them a bit brownish under some light conditions but the tarmac? What's wrong with the tarmac, it's just how it's supposed to be.

Without judging the realistic/beautiful textures of the tarmac/grass/sand, Le Mans textures are very little detailed.

The textures of the Sebring tarmac are incredibly detailed.

Sebring is the example to follow IMO, plus I believe these trees are in 3D and has many objects of detail.

Apples and oranges, Sebring is a old race track built on a airport, old and broken tiles everywhere, Le Mans is a proper race track with smooth and new tarmac, the street roads from Tetre Rouge and Arnage are still very smooth and tidy. I never seen tiles and cracks in Le Mans.
Check the tarmac in KartKraft, that's realistic tarmac and the example to follow, imho.

No, you did not understand.

Put yourself with the same car in sight close to the ground, there are infinitely more details and "pixels" than in Le Mans.

The textures of Le Mans are very little detailed.

Look for yourself !!

Look also at the sand of Le Mans, how the texture is unrealistic and not very detailed.

I think the best rfactor 2 circuit by far is lemans.:)
comparing with iracing is a joke, it has bad textures, over illuminated, of the iracing arena ... it's even worse.:confused::confused:

and in vr I don't even tell you

Maybe it is because of track length? If his res textures were used than it could cause too large memory footprint because track is much longer than Sebring?
Just a guess.
