I have all the source files still (as I created the models and templates originally), and I'll be getting them sorted out for release. Some of them don't quite take a proper AO bake because of the way the models were mapped - they were done way, way back just as AO baking was becoming "the way" to do things, and I hadn't yet learnt how to do it! I've had a play and can cobble something template-worthy together from the shading layers and a low-level bake though, so it should all be good And will include the detail/parts layers without having something else have to recreate them or anything.
Not even a noob at modding. But to see the enthusiastic response by guys who are obviously well versed in modding makes my Xmas I'm sure the community collaboration going ahead will see this as a serious contender for no #1 rf2 mob. Fantastic guys..
Apologies for the lack of updates everyone. Our work was slowed down as we have lost contact with the gentlemen who originally ported the mod and said he could fix most of the bugs. Rest assure though, the project continues. I would say the mod is 90% prepared however we are still waiting on ISI to provide proper oval tires, and without that piece of the mod it is just not in any shape to be released. There is no reference for us to add oval tires without input data from ISI. Once the oval tires are acquired, which Tim last advised would be soon, we can release a proper test mod to the public. We also have some work happening with the templates where I believe JP Alesi will be reaching out to Mike Peters to finalize that piece of the project. Again, if anyone has any modding skills and would like to help out, please reach out to us.
This is about the best news this mod could have received. With the original (RF2) modder back, we can get the mod updated properly. We will continue to keep everyone updated on the mod progress and hopefully have CART Factor ready for the public in the near future.
Really awesome news guys. I'm more than convinced that this epic mod is in capable hands. Can't wait to hear more.
We have progressed with the mod in the past 2 weeks and continue to get closer to finishing. This is taking a bit longer than we wanted. The oval tires & car reflections are the next challenges. We hope to have the project competed soon for everyone.
