Here is a setup for the Spark. It was set up on MoTec to get the tyre temps as even as possible but to do so some strange settings were used. Still working on it but maybe of interest. If your having trouble braking simple don't brake as hard, find the happy medium with pressure. View attachment 2769
A lot of people cannot join server because they dont know about Mauros mod I suppose http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/4739-1960s-World-Class-Racing-All-Tracks-vMod nice setup Fergy, thnx! (keep working on it, keep working, we accept only the best lol)
It's hard to help those not reading the ISI forum but I see a couple more have signed up to ARI yesterday. Hoping Dany has the website problem fixed asap. All mod info is in the initial event post in this thread. I made an improvement to the set too;-)
How does his setup look like?. Is he using hard suspensions or soft? I'm on softer than "standard" trying to find more grip but I'm still quite doubtly whether that really works. On friday I joined for a quick race and I saw the fastest drivers have great front grip and that is what I'm struggling to look for but can't seem to find enough. By the way, for us (humans) the rubbered track is faster in online playing than offline and that's because the AI take a slightly different line at some places (they are quite slow in this track).
Hi Fergy, I tried "ARI Fun Race 3 @ Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course" server a couple of times and I liked it a lot. Very nice. Thanks! I would like to sign in for the race and already signed up in the sr4l forums but my account is not active yet. Can I join the race anyway? Thanks.
I don't think Klaus Ellenbrand will mind me sharing his setup as he openly shared it with all of us last week. He's still the fastest lap holder. View attachment 2772 The biggest thing i've learnt from practising at this track is that balance is everything. I use the brakes (and throttle) less for the purpose of slowing down in a hurry and more for the purpose of keeping the cars weight evenly distributed. This track is unforgiving to the slightest of mistakes. One wheel off the track and you've spun off. It's also what makes this track such a thrill to drive.
I'll give it a try this evening and compare it with mine so I can understand better how different changes in this car affects behaviour/performance and try to find the best setup according to my driving style.
About setups, I use Fergys very stable setup and used last night nessunos (hes joining the race btw, welcome nessuno ) very similar and nice setup. Two days ago I got one DJ offered for a sparck which was very stable too but very different in gear spacing. With his setup I could enter bends in 4th gear while with the others I had to go down in 3rd. Getting used and actually compare so different setups is impossible for me as it takes me a long time rearrange my shifting. I really wonder whats the best way to go. Keep my shifting to as less as possible (having the advantage of hands staying on wheel more time or the opposite? Gorgias whats your opinion on this as you are too using the h-shift? Is the dillema valid?
I have configured my gears so all curves are in 2nd or 3rd gear. My 3rd gear is almost at rev limiter in turn... let me count... turn 3 (lefthander) and turn 9, the righthander you can do flat out if you do fine the prior lefthander. My 2nd gear is almost at rev limitier in turn 7, also a righthander. 1st gear is standard. 5th gear is set so it won't reach the limiter in the long straight but being very close to it (to help any chance of overtaking in a slipstream). 4th gear is just between 3rd and 4th. I've set them that way so in the middle sector (where I feel this cars lacks front grip in those low speed corners where you most need it) high revs will allow the car to be more responsive and not to lose the rubber line (there is too much difference in grip if you go wide).
