Here is our counterpart in new UI icon form. The next update will have them I'm obviously diverging from the standard format, because i'm just that kind of person Modders gonna mod.
I've been spending some time this week getting my rF2 up to date and cleaned out and came looking to see if icons had been made yet, glad to see your working on it and love the style you've chosen for your mods. Keep up the good work woochoo!
bingo on workshop now v1.250 (2022-02-14) - Added the car icons for the new UI. - Added the brand_logo.png for the new UI (the 1954 Endurance logo). and here for reference is the recent video from GPLaps on Dundrod '55, using the 1954 cars (v1.240, previous public version) There have been lots of recent subs, strongly correlated with the release of Dundrod '55, which is lovely. Must have been a pain for people to pick a car without the new icons. So, I hope things will be much nicer for all now
Speaking of GPLaps, the Historic Road Racing Championship had its test race with these cars today, with 40 of the 150-something signups making it through prequalifying: The rulebook is here if you feel like joining us for round 1 at Longford next month: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TN0nLNfk3brLQVAXJml5aAePXU0iPsE6lzliACATcmo/edit
130+ registered drivers What a league! It's a shame that S397 do not understand the potential that RF2 could have by focusing on historical contents
Amazing. I am quite happy, but at the same time sad, because there could have been much MUCH advanced physics in update. It just lacked bit more time and some more solutions. Ideas are there in my head now, but I can't afford time and learning new way to handle dev mode and such things... On the other hand, would never know if better physics would be what people would appreciate, sometimes people don't like differences occuring, even if it is better, they might not see it that way. I guess if it is this popular it means it is good enough. Also there were some other 50s type cars on my hands, they were evolving very well... but future of it is uncertain too.
I see GPLaps has also done a video with the pseudo-C4R on Le Grand Circuit too! And it's lovely to see he's doing the series. I like the vibe
That poster and the video thumbnail are works of art. Wouldn't be without wonderfully modeled cars. I wish I could take part at these event, they seem like it's gonna be great fun.
I don't know if you have some permanent personal obstacles of course, but it is worth reminding that there is no minimum participation requirement. Signing up just for one or two races in the calendar is entirely possible.
This mod is amazing, congrats... Just a small detail that I noticed by cycling through the cameras.. That would be nice to have the gauges working on the external camera, it's a very useful camera for live broadcasts.
I think not having the cockpit gauges is a long-standing performance optimisation. It's the way it is because that's how the ISI/397 Cobra is. I could maybe change it one day, keeping in mind that this mod is designed for having lots of cars running at once. But I don't really have the spare time to dive back into these mods, even if they'd only be quick jobs. Because it goes like this: Just one quick job. Might as well do that other quick job. No point doing that quick job if this medium job doesn't get done. It all looks worse now, unless i do this huge job. Having said that, if there are any folks around here that would like to look into doing any upgrades to the sound settings to make it all work nicely with rF2's new sound system, or any other small tweaks to align the mod with any new or old systems, please get in touch I'll also say that I'm absolutely delighted (!!) to see how well GPLaps' HRRC is going so far. Great to see so many people, including some top drivers getting into it. Excellent to see/hear the broadcast with Aidan and SimplyRace, and the drivers that were live streaming their race. GPLaps, SouthPawRacer, NHillebrand Looking forward to Round 2 at Belgium '66. No surprise that I loved the Longford race for round 1 And a 25min broadcast highlights video too!
