I know the first release is just getting the models in game and it uses other physics. Just want to add more information for later on. The steering in the mod felt very light. Even with 100% ffb, which I rarely use, The car 'felt' very light and nimble. By the 70's, the tires Firestone & Goodyear produced were HUGE. 15 or 16 inches wide in the front and 19ish inches for the rears. No power steering so especially at low speed corners, the effort to turn those cars must have been extreme. Taking a look at the drivers of the day, very few resembled the Wee Scot Jackie Stewart. Many like Denny Hulme were truck driver sized, stocky, muscular etc. Today's F1 jockeys would probably slide around the cockpit due to the size most cockpits were to accommodate the larger bodied boys. I can't attest to many of the Interseries/European cars, perhaps they WERE light and easy to drive, certainly the early 2.0L Climax & Ferrari might have been. But as this project progresses, I HOPE we get a good approximation of the size & weight of these cars. The '73 Penske/Donohue Porsche was probably close to 2000lbs when fueled for a race.
They really still had to work a lot with muscle strength. No serv and wide tires. But the weight wasn't that heavy. The 917 up to and including 917-10 and 917-30 only weighed 730 to 903 kg. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_917
I am juste stupefy and impatient Really nice sportcars i would liké to sexe in reality m'y only expérience was le mans 1982 liké spectators
Just think how much power the 917-30 produced because they were outgunning the McLaren M20 which clocked in at 690kg.
The vehicle was further improved with the participation of Mark Donohue and engineer Helmut Flegl. The focus was particularly on the engine, which was enlarged to 5.4 liters and delivered 810 kW (1100 hp) at 7800 rpm. The maximum torque was 1098 Nm at 6400 rpm. On the test bench, the engine even developed 1156 kW (1570 hp) with a boost pressure of 2.24 bar. This engine in the 917/30 Spyder is still considered to be the most powerful machine ever used in a circuit race. [20]
Hi, Any updates on this mod? One series that is clearly lacking is the Canam cars. I know GPL has them. An idea is to focus on the 1970-71 naturally aspirated cars. Even BoP if need be with 3 L, 5 L or 8 L variants using the cars chassis. Plenty of Chev's and Ford DFV's to choose from. Cars we haven't seen before March 707/717, Ferrari 712P, Shadow AVS MkI or MkII Chevrolet, BRM P154/167 Chevrolet, Chaparral 2J Chevrolet 3L variants can just use the Ford DFV https://www.ultimatecarpage.com/spec/6350/McLaren-M8C-Cosworth.html Dom
Chief has been working on the 1990 Indycars as of late. Lots of progress there. He usually rotates his projects. So I'm thinking he'll be coming back to this eventually. But that is just my assumption https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/lola-t90-00.69803/page-12
@ChiefWiggum hi chief very nice surprise thank you....any chance of a template for these at some point ?
