@Seven Smiles I need to make a driver or borrow one somewhere. The last option would be great, but won't steal one. And it should be a classic one, not one of those hightech f1's. Edit: Just found out "s397 modding ressources" have a model from 2010. Will see if that can be used.
I am not sure how familiar you are with animations, but doing steering animations is pretty tricky. Something I did to get around the driver issue is to simply swap the helmet and move it into the right place. Anyway, if you want to have the full modding experience, keep going as you please. The car updates look very good so far.
I have the biped skeleton driving suit (s397 ressources) and it works fine in its standalone scene. But when importing into my car scene, it gets broken since I use other units. At this point I can only position it and export the static model to my car scene. Will look at it later on. For now there are tons of stuff that needs to be fixed. All the interior need fixed, it's in worse condition than I first thought. I was planning to pack a beta-version with the updates so far, kinda a "50% milestone" version, but keeps finding stuff that needs to be corrected first. When I fix one thing it affects another.
Original version by F1Ligue in 2014 This is a Beta version - WORK IN PROGRESS, so anything can change. With permission from original author F1ligue, I'm trying to give this mod from 2014, a new 2023 makeover. You can find the original car v.0.50 here: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/r8-gordini.2397/ If you want to chat about something related to this project, I can be reacted at https://discord.gg/Zebs7BjCBE (link updated) Contributers so far: F1ligue - Made the original version 0.5 in 2014. Speedster63 - Suspension setup from similar model from GTR2. Chris "redapg" - Author behind indispensable rfactor2 modding tools, generous help & knowledge sharing beyond my imagination. Bears - Donated 5 liveries inspired from historic 6H Kayalami races and historic Bathurst 500 races. Frederik Alonso - Always a good guy to solve headache problems, when you're stuck. v.0.81.0 - News & fixed (9. may 2023) - New suspension setup borrowed from a GTR2 R8 Gordini by Speedster63. It has been modified and adjusted by Chris "redapg" to fit rFactor2 and this car. I have then changed some parameters specific to fit this car's specs. Bug list * AI have slow starts, you can overtake half the field. * Rearlight varies in brake intensity * In the showroom the car is floating * High wind sound * Arm animation missing * Not really a bug, but cars with headlight cover wont have headlight flares. Todo * Create final details of the dash, like switches, shaders , and leds. * Add a upgrade possiblity to use slicks, dont know is this is a wanted feature? * Add rain tires. It aready have road legal tires, so dont know if a didicaed raintire is in place? * Implement damage texture * Dont look around.. inside cockpit needs to be rebuild, its a mess. * Add more lowpoly models to reduce framerate and clean up some of existing body lowpoly. * Clean up unused files and gen file. * Adding more details like brakediscs, calipers and other details to make it complete. I cant install the car - not in-game and not with modmgr. Put the rfcmp as always to packages but modmgr dont see it. In-game it means "unknown base component"
@Manfredk2 have you removed older versions of this car? I have packed it like below. I left out "update from 0.70" etc, because that way it had leftovers from old version which interfered. Try this, I have just repacked it and tried to install it again, works in my end. LINK REMOVED- Racedepartment updated
RaceDepartment download was not showing in Mod Manager or in game after I unzipped (7zip) and placed .rfcmp in my Packages folder. The rfcmp from above download is working. Can see it and install it in Mod Manager. Many thanks.
@Denis Betty @Manfredk2 updated the ressource at racedepartment with the "google drive" version from last night. It also includes a redefined default car setup. Did some tests last night and I need to bump up the general AI pace by 110% or so. Gotta find out where to do that.
I think, at some point when its done. Still quite unfinished. On the other hand, it would be updated regularly... maybe I look into it, but dont know how it works. Edit: found this guide, I'll try... https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=553110627
@ThomasJohansen Maybe you can also check THIS official Site. With that Tool you can also add a Tag for the Component.
While trying to find some AI speed... (need to find 5 sec AI speed) Testing on monte carlo 1966 Always disliked monaco as a racetrack, but with this car it just makes so much sense, so fun and challenging, and french ofcourse.
