Through most of it's history, the Can-Am records were consistently faster at the same tracks than F1 cars of the same period. Not by much, but at tracks like Watkins Glen, & Mosport the Can-Am pole time was usually faster than F1. The '69 thru 71 V8 cars were probably capable of 195mph. In 1975, after the Can-Am collapsed, Roger Penske & Mark Donahue took the Blue Turbo Panzer and set a closed course record (with special wheel covers and other modifications) at Talladega. Averaged over 221 mph for the 3 or 4 laps required. It took 11 years for the Indycars to catch up and break that record. The Can-Am cars, for the most part, were simple brutes..but they were FAST Brutes. (waiting for a bellowing Mclaren M8F to re-appear with a proper V8 thunder)

@Donat, yeah, no Problem, but don't forget this Mod will be only in a 70's Style, but we can add more Front Hoods and Rear Wings.
We need it all Chief!! I hope you'll add that McLaren style body too. My favorite thing about your "Style" mods are they follow the old formula of commercial slot car days (yeah, I'm old). We were all running essentially the same class chassis/motor combo but we modeled whatever body or car we were fans of. A Porsche 904 was as fast as a Ford GT, it was fun, nobody cared! I never understood the "Historic" version of mods for racing. Who's showing up with the slowest car? Not me, Haha!
If anyone ever wanted to make a detailed mod, there is a VERY inexpensive book, only 200.00 dollars. Fortunately for me, it is out of print.
