Hey everyone. I have installed to the game and tested the V8 Supercars in an AI race. Very pleased and it looks better than in the DEV Mode There are a few cosmetic things to get done and some final mapping and then I will post to Steam as Version 0.25 later today. The AIW file is from the 2008 track and it does not behave that well but they get around quite clean. Pit entry is tight . I will adjust the barriers a bit. The horizon is strange and has a shadow I can not get rid of, but in a future update I will have a large area around the track and ditch the horizon gmt. Mike

What is it with grass n trees . Who has time to look when doing 220km following someone into turn 1 etc to look.
I have some new LIDAR info for Oran park....the downside is 50% of the track is missing as this data is from after they started work on the housing.... The good news is that I can use the mesh that I need to do the pit area and some other areas indicated by the arrows. I will also be using Google Earth data to have a 5+ km radius around the track and high def images to give a good horizon around the track. Lakeside and QR are getting the same treatment.

Getting the terrain and the pits working. Hope next week sometime to release with the new pit area and extended terrain to the horizon. Once that is done I can add the other buildings in the pit area. It is a bit hard to see, but the area is accurate as I can get it for now....
Well...............that was fun I have imported the LIDAR data for the outer 5 km around Oran Park and stitched, un-stitched..........deleted.............started again..............deleted............stitched............cloned............3d Max crashing and locking...............and finally finished to where I can now apply the images and get that mapped before a release of the next upgrade. The good news is that the entire track from the walls outward is new and mapped with 4K and 8K images. I will plant more trees and tree lines to give it a better feel. It should look quite something when done. Once that part is done I will go over the buildings and correct and add what I can. Lakeside and QR are getting the same treatment. It is always the way.....started out as an upgrade to the pit area and gets out of control. Still working on colours and getting things to match up and look like the Aussie landscape around Oran Park. Tough to guess....sometimes heaps of rain and green, other time drought and a brown dead landscape. So I am trying to get in between....not too green....not to dead lol. The upside is the area around the pit is accurate. Very hard to line up and get things looking better but I will get there. WIP....
