As mentioned in previous Steam threads.... an example is "Kerbal Space Program" they are able to have a standalone and Steam versions side by side. Although once people got their Steam keys, their build remained on Steam for the future. I wonder if ISI is able to exploit the Steam Workshop? Or perhaps because of the grey area of intellectual property which mods contain it may not. VAC.... You already need the correct content installed to join a multiplayer server, so everyone is racing on the same track with the same cars.
I wonder too how steam will deal with ISI policy of taking money once in a life time (the honest way in my perception) No dlcs, lifetime online subscriptions. Is not the way, i think, they run their business. Except for Reiza, any other sim (or racing game) keeps his hands in customers wallet. But my biggest concern (like others) is about the young audience in online gameplay for casual races and how they deal with rf2 "style". And this forum... oh my dog! Good bye technical posts. Hello trolls from everywhere Ps: Rf2 should be classified under a tab like that: "it is a racing simulator you turds, not a racing game" We don't want you lol Edit: Hey, and what about steamos thing? Rf2 will work?
Steam support subscriptions already. I would hope that Simracer's elitism would be subdued. It seems it is still alive and well unfortunately. Anyone and everyone is entitled to use rFactor 2. It is not up to us who does and who does not.
Could you in the future, choose any build in Steam account? Every license we own now, once you register in steam, is it unplayable? Sometimes I use another builds and old versions of different mods so I´m afraid if I will loose that possibility. Another question is: Once rfactor2 is available in Steam, will you abandon the possibility for us to download new builds and mods if we don´t want to join steam? Thanks and good news if everybody can choose as Reiza made in their GSCE.
I'd say it's worth the couple of minutes and skimming through this thread. My guess is the reason why rF2 isnt' on Steam this very second is because not everything has been hashed out yet. Give it time.
Good timing ! On my todo list for this weekend was already: Install a rfactor 2 from a scratch on my PC So, come on. NOW is today
Okay cool, Anyone know how well a server would run on a cloud server? It's something i've never previously tested, but I could stick up a few on my Rackspace account as I'm way under my monthly budget atm.
To me, rf2 on steam is like fight club rules in a facebook page. People should get beaten for 2 days before be allowed to buy one license
Because of 2 things, 1st wanted to show rF2's strength, 2nd if I end up trying to explain alot of features the video would loose the dynamism (hope i spelled right), a teaser should blow into your face but also prove the game's strong points.
If I understand correctly you have done the video? If so very nice job there. Really like it a lot. I am really a fan of racing cuts with good music and this one is a special one sir.
