Are you hosting a Dedicated Server on your home pc? The problems i`m talking about are concern to the Dedicated Server only. And the Ports-Problem concern the server not the client. Well...at the end it concerns the client too, because the client cannot connect to the server, because of the different ports...
You guys are all talking about"workarounds" and why should we work around anything. Servers will stay dead till they patch the sim. Myself am waiting for a new build and hope all is fixed.
As i posted above, the problems are two: different ports wich could be blocked, if a fw is installed/activated and the problem with the https ports itselfs. When your Dedicated Server is running and everybody can join your server, be happy. By the way, firewall disabling could be dangerous...
Take the lords name in vain over a game, what makes you any better. Deliberate or not, people get upset over accidents every day all over the world. That is called life.
yes people get upset but everyone knows that ISI are working on it, but there are still people banging on about the issue and that post was directed at them....go outside and do something else, whinging on here day after day is not going to solve the issue!
Do you realize that you upset people whining about the game maybe as much they upset you? Btw, why get upset over people whining about a game? Does not makes you a whining person too, only with different motivation?
Nope, the same ISI test servers have been up for about a week or so. Probably a new build beyond 518RC will be hosted for testing soon.
I just checked and it's on minimum FW setting... How do I check if ports are lined up if isn't just normal port forwarding I've been 'acing' for many years? I'll be happy for sure, but right now? No reason to be happy...
Depends on the router firmware/menu. First check with cports wich ports are used from rf2. Then allow (tcp&udp) in fw these ports (extended settings). After that look into your router menu and find something with port forwarding or similar. Allow there the needed ports too. If you don`t get it, we can try to manage this via skype. Just send me a pm with your skype account nick.
Like I said, it's not been problem before 494... These are the ports I've forwarded, they are still forwarded... 54347 54297 44297 6 forwards in total, TCP and UDP. All forwarded for my own internal IP... It really shouldn't be an error-40. Are these cports - that's a new term for me... Like I said, all is as it's always been... I'm not a complete newb - I've always had dedicated server.exes running in my rFactors...
No...cports is a small tool. http://www.chip.de/downloads/CurrPorts-32-Bit_19900636.html With this tool check out, which ports a really used by rf2... Sorry for the misstyped with/which^^
