Hi, I'm new to rfactor2, though I've played rFactor for a few days. I downloaded the demo link above (from bitly, in the first post), but I'm unable to get the game running. It launches properly, but all three selection boxes are grayed out. I understood that this is a free demo version--is that not the case? If anyone can help me get the demo running, I'd appreciate it. thanks
Yes, the filename I'm launching is rFactor2_DemoBuild_382.exe. I notice there's no mention of demo during the install, nor in the list of installed programs, however. I've tried this on 3 different computers, all running windows 7.

At least have some basic facts before having a go. How many updates this year? Anyhoo, great update ISI. Collision is better, fps is up (why?) etc Thanks!!
Haven't had any problems with this build so far, everything working as expected, and I even notice a bit more fps stability when smoke/dirt particles are rendered. The most welcome change is that vehicle selection is no longer a laborious process due to lag. Visual tire wear seems to be working again as well, I think. I'm happy with the build so far. Has anyone else noticed a difference in the appearance of the tire temp LCD? I didn't see anything in changelog about it, but it looks like the colors might be a bit different or something, I can't put my finger on it exactly. It definitely looks different to me though.
Auto update didn't work for me, first build that it hasn't for me, Will try overwrite with light. edit : light overwrite worked fine, no time to drive at this stage , cant wait
I downloaded the update exe file and installed it. Now I have no text in HUD panels. I verified files using "Verify" in the update panel. I get an error at the end: One or more critical simulation files failed verification. Support\382.uninstall failed verification. Any help would be appreciated.
After verification in two last lines I get: One or more critical simulation files failed verification. Installed\Vehicles\Clio_PC\1.0\clio_pc.mft failed verification. But Clios work fine, only one crash of the game, when I changed series from main menu.
Its nice to get a new build... but seriously ISI the build notes are for letting us understand exactly what you did, not just knowing what you did. I see there is now a new soft particle effect instead of the old sun occlusion, and that tells us absolutely nothing. Please explain what new features are, and please try and be more detailed with future release notes. If I knew what the new sun occlusion feature meant, I think I might be happy for it, but right now I just do not understand exactly what it is.
I agree with this. It would be nice to see a little more info at least about the biggest changes in a release.

Auto Update done yesterday, FPS test, same as the previous build, the cars & track in the menu are loading faster than previous build. Good for the moment. Any explanation on the Soft Particle new feature, on my settings it's at Off by default, what is the impact/change if I activate if, more FPS, less FPS ??? And what change at screen (Smoke, Rain, ...)?
Thank you very much ISI!! Will try it after updating for sure. Already deleted the shaders just in case. Edit: Auto update worked just fine as usually. The game is running fine as usually.
