Okay I have installed the new plug in and I can feel an improvement however now when I apply the brake the car (Megane) brakes traction, gets crossed up and spins. Also happens mid corner when gently powering out of a corner. Sometimes I can catch it but most times not. I'm braking well before the AI does so I'm not out braking myself. Happy to hear from anyone with advice.

Now the work begins. You will need to be patient and do laps and laps. You have something that handles, now you can tune it to your preference using the controls max min and sensitivity. And of course the garage settings. Look at max brake pressure. Diff lock. Camber. Suspension. Toe. All of these things can be used to dial out what you don't like about the handling now. It just takes time. How much depends on how good you are at tweaking. You could always beg a setup off somebody, trouble is everyone is different, Ive had setups off people who are quick and found them undriveable, because I had not done the laps that they had building up to that setup. So there is no real shortcut to becoming a good sim racer. Ignore what the AI can do. They are AI.
