My vote is for Lienz, but that won't come out until the dirt physics is figured out and that won't be a for a while. IIRC didn't Lienz have a part on dirt? one of the layouts anyway. I remember the 24h course which didn't, but there was an in-town course (didn't) also and another course that did have a combo of dirt and tarmac too.
I will definitely lose my social life if ISI laserscan the Nordschleife and get the license to make it.
For me, aside from the high quality, excellent design, fun to drive any car even 50hp, Toban is a major differentiator b/c it is fantasy and owned by ISI. You simply can't get it anywhere else.
+1 Mosport 1967 +1 Watkins glen +1 Oulton park +1 Nordschleife +1 Chula Vista and at least 100 others... ISI need more people or need to work longer hours. They have so much work ahead of them, how could they possibly deliver the promises (in teasing screenshots). in a reasonable time frame? IMO, ISI are behind by about a year. Sure, you can maximize profits by only have a small team but how will that really turn out in the end. BRING OUT A TRACK EDITOR TIM, YOU GUYS ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES WHO CAN MAKE TRACKS! EASE THE WORK LOAD AND MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY AGAIN. Ooops caps lock. too late now.
Sorry it just seems like at this pace, we will be waiting till 2014 for ISI to do everything that needs doing.. I still think ISI need more staff to speed things up.
Well, if they would make or help some clever one to make export tools for Blender, there would be free track editor and car maker in same package at 0 cost to consumer, but I could give 5 for such exporter, I would give more but I'm too poor and skipping more than two days worth of meals is unhealthy.
http://www.blender.org/ That is free, you would need just pay for export tool, if such would be on sale of course
People are creating tracks as we speak - they're using 3D Studio. ISI would have to spend years developing track editor that would be on par with 3D Studio.
http://trackmaker.wordpress.com/ Is there any good info about this program? Some people say it's made for rfactor 2!?
I would say that anyone who rather wants futuristic toban raceway than any amazing historic track is a "looser" Have you totally missed the already finished and released (and amazing) tracks not made by ISI? Or what do you mean? However I like your suggestions of tracks. Nurburgring is nr1 wish for me, but it's not very likely to happen. I hope some modders create it!
Thats really good news for me, as I find fiction tracks absolutely pointless. There are hundreds of real tracks, I get so excited to learn one in some part of the world and see it in flesh in GoogleEarth. (hope its modern Spa btw, but anything in Europe is tons welcome)
I believe you still need ordinary modelling software to create meshes for trackmaker Despite being a pretty cool software, it's use is likely to be limited to quickly created tracks. Anything more serious will still require a lot of work, which you may aswell do in regular 3D modelling software.
