For the love of all race tracks, please remove the dozens of hot air balloons from the sky!!! I could see possibly one at an event, but that is plain out of control. The ONE at the VIR version casts horrible unrealistic shadows on the track. With this many balloons, it would eclipse the track!
Like @Keith Carter I am globophobic The bloody things infest far too many tracks. The first time I saw one I thought "That's cute" but ever since one swooped low over my head casting me into a shadow so dark I thought the end of the world had come I never want to see one again
If you arent already, hop onto his Patreon, lots of good tracks on the way, I am particularly enjoying the Red Mountain track he is finishing up now. Wouldnt mind seeing that in RF2 either!
Thanks for all the kind words. Original track has 2 layout version, one with balloons, one without, and that's what we are going to include. Here a few new screenshots (Added more grass. Balloons position also adjusted further away, they are not going to eclipse the sun.)
That looks fantastic, I look forward to launch rF2 and try this track so much, it will also go very well with historic stuff. It is one of the tracks that I am excited the most, and still haven't driven properly in proper simlation. Here is amazing video of pro driver learning the track really quick in real life:
I edditted the wall DDS for the AC version of this yesterday. Realise its personal preference, and in fact the green is really that harsh IRL, but, the colour of the DDS was very stark against the landscape, and especially jarring when playing in VR so i "faded/sunburned" it back a little to the same colour as the faded roofs in the same track. the DDS is in this post if it helps.(not that I even know if DDS is even relevant to modding in RF2?) https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...ral-discussion.307899/page-1593#post-13211797
Thanks for the suggestion. We have updated wall texture, more closer to real life. Also removed a large section of green wall(replaced with fences), which does not exist in real life.
I am sure you guys are already talking with Tyrone so know about this, but, Mike08 did a very high res gmap update and hand textured it, as well as several other texture updates. Really bring the track up a big notch. I am unsure when they intend to release to public, and their patreon has asked not to share the files, so a clip of the ride only for now from me. (does rf2 have the ability to create grass? I dont seem to have any tracks with grass on them? just flat textures. Is this a decision that can be made by rf2 track builders, or a limitation in the engine because the grass has to be actual mesh?) (biggish vid, give it a sec to upload and process to full res)
What needs to be done to utilize that DDS file on AC big willow. that glowing wall is just distracting, it needs dirt and texture.
