RF2 tracks look really natural with all the settings maxed out. These shots are from a drying Spa during morning practice. It was foggy and raining on various parts of the circuit..and dry on others. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/588472/RF2_WEB/rFactor2 2012-02-18 11-15-52-46.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/588472/RF2_WEB/rFactor2 2012-02-18 11-16-12-09.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/588472/RF2_WEB/rFactor2 2012-02-18 11-21-50-76.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/588472/RF2_WEB/rFactor2 2012-02-18 11-13-51-69.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/588472/RF2_WEB/rFactor2 2012-02-18 11-13-54-63.jpg
No, there's nothing wrong with the shadow - it just switches to lesser quality further away from camera. That's how cascaded shadowmaps work. Of course one could say shadows need higher resolution, but that's just a matter of balance between qality and performance. So what you basically see is not an error, but just aliasing resulting from shadow quality dropping (aliasing on the shadowmap itself, not on the screen).
Here's a few more...including a alien horse in the first shot. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/588472/RF2_WEB/rFactor2 2012-02-18 11-15-53-51.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/588472/RF2_WEB/rFactor2 2012-02-18 11-16-52-98.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/588472/RF2_WEB/rFactor2 2012-02-18 11-17-33-82.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/588472/RF2_WEB/rFactor2 2012-02-18 11-17-01-09.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/588472/RF2_WEB/rFactor2 2012-02-18 11-14-30-32.jpg

Beautiful pictures, I have many 60's F1 Posters in My garage and always looked and wondered how they had the nerve to drive those tracks. Now I can in rfactor 2 !!!!!
Hey! It's raining and those ladies are just standing out there without umbrellas? Nice pictures Saabjock!
It had actually stopped raining on that particular part of the circuit...and that lady in the beige dress has a 'cone head' anyway . She doesn't need an umbrella. It was still raining at La Source when I got there and on the Kemmel straight. It was a really cool effect. ISI really got that aspect down nicely. I had to really back out of the throttle and feel out the wet bits. Very slippery.
RIGHT! I wet my pants driving this and realizing I am just an inch to far out to make the (slight) turn and looking at my speedometer, telling me I drive 260 km/h.........the telephone pole is inevitable, nothing you can do....... Scares the crap out of me even behind my computer! What a balls did those guys have!
To be brutally honest the wet weather effects don't look that great at the moment. The shiny wet track with bone dry buildings looks really unnatrual. I hope its something that can be addressed at some stage. We really need tyre spray aswell.
Nice screen shots. I took a peek at the same location on Google Streets. {{{{Click Here}}}} Think ISI did a good job all round.
Here are some, but with rain not fully turned on yet (rain drops, spray and stuff?) don't look as good as they could, but am sure things will get better over time Simon
@SimonV6.... Very nice screenshots. Those two in-car, really show the nice job ISI did with wet weather effects. That track looks so slick. Keep them coming. @DJCruicky... Nice comparison. Isn't Google Streets great?
