Afternoon Folks: I am about to buy a new video card for my system. The below link is the card. http://ncix.com/products/?sku=76098 I am wondering if any one has close to the same specs as I do. And thoughts before I order this. I buy all my personal PC parts from these people and they are fantastic to deal with. My system is as follows. Motherboard: ASUS ROG Crosshair V Formula CPU : AMD FX 8 - Core ( Black Edition ) Memory : 32 GB of Corsair XMS3 4 x 8GB sticks Cur. Video : GigaByte Radeon 2 GB 6950 1 SSD Intel 120:O/S Win7 X64 pro 1 SSD Intel 120 : All Games 2 x 500 GB Sata Raptor 15000 RPM drives Power supply is a Thermaltake 1200 module I also cool the CPU with a Corsair H-60 I run this into 3 x LG E2742 monitors. 2 into the DVI's 1 into the Display Port I don't think I have any major bottle necks with the above configuration? And this video card without breaking the bank would complete my system I look forword to any-one that can take time to respond with there thoughts. One way or the other I would like to order the above before closing time this Friday. Thanks to all that respond Dave NRT
I don't have the same requirements as you, but I'd tell you to look at this one as well. http://ncix.com/products/?sku=87195&vpn=04G-P4-3767-KR&manufacture=eVGA&promoid=1223 http://www.hwcompare.com/14806/geforce-gtx-670-vs-geforce-gtx-760/ I wish I could afford it along with an FX. I still have an Athlon.
Realkman: You feel that the card you linked, is a better card that the one I posted about? I built this system from scratch, I built it inside a Thermaltake V case, so no lack of airflow http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00001610 Dave NRT
Ha Ha... I bet...Other than the fact that a week after I buy a card, It will be at the end of it's life cycle likely And $400.00 cheaper That is the way all PC components seem to go. I don't follow the FPS scene or any of the Indie tittles, Are any of them supporting directX 11? I bet that is where some of the mark up comes from? Dave NRT
The card in your link was 400. You can get 780 for 550 now http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produc...=BESTMATCH&Description=gtx780&N=-1&isNodeId=1
All I can add to this is that I just recently upgraded my system (no where near as fast as yours I might say) and I went for the MSI gtx770 Lightning 2gb after doing a lot of research, its build around the same gpu, and I have to say I'm really happy with it's performance. Its a Little bit faster then the gtx670 and the price is about the same....here is one of mant comparisons I found on the net: http://www.tested.com/tech/pcs/455849-tested-nvidia-geforce-gtx-770-video-card-get/ Wish you much luck and wisdom with your choice ps... and you get 3 instead of 2 free games ... lol
I do not give opinions anymore on anything had enough but I will say listen to people posted in this thread so far. p Hey ? Where have all the ATi fanboys gone ? Trying to convince people for years in age old sims ATi 4xxx / 5xxx were superior in every way and you were stupid for buying anything else......... why ? ...........because a myriad of totally unrelated DX10 shooter tests told them so. Worst fanboys in history of PC and Games.
I would buy this http://ncix.com/products/?sku=84049&vpn=GV-N770OC-4GD&manufacture=Gigabyte if I was in the market. but im happy with my 7970 ghz in eyefinity, works gr8, just got to know how to adjust your settings
Tony: Thanks for the suggestion and link!! Ordered... Should be here on Monday. Total including Tax & shipping: $472.31 Canadian ( that's $443.44 US exchange at time of order ) Thank-you all that took the time to respond and ALL suggestions.. I could not think of a better spot to ask for ideas, thoughts and preferences. I will keep all up to date if liked. Only concern I have in all of this overall is heat. I am fighting that problem now with what I have. Thanks again Dave NRT
