lol found this thread looking for stutter in rf2 with high fps lol

at Nola in the radicals i get stutter in the pits and elsewhere on the tracks. Fast sync does seem to fix it vo!? With sync on or off i get it. Could this track need the same fix as above? On my new benq 144 Hz rf2 is the only title that gets bad stutter and tearing with sync off, even under the refresh rate.

I have always used Video sync in rFactor 2. I simply lower my game settings to point where my system can keep fps at my monitors refresh rate. To my experience Video sync is only option in rFactor 2 which gives smooth and good looking game, no micro stutters, stutters or tearing.

maybe rf2doesnt like high fps lol.

as i said the only things that gets my rf2 somewhat smooth is nvidias fast sync. doom runs nearly 180 fps vsync off.... its the best looking and smoothest game I've ever seen!!

ok it seems that NOLA really struggles with VSync on with stutters around the pit area and tight corners. But with fast sync its smooth. Does Rf2 struggle with sVync? i tried suzuka with Vsync and its smooth no stutters.

Vsync will stutter if the FPS goes below 60, because then it will probably use only 30. To avoid this you need adaptive vsync, but it's not implemented in the game. It might work if you enable adaptive vsync from GPU control panel and disable in-game vsync. Generally I recommend avoiding vsync with racing sims.

thought triple buffer stopped the halving of fps. Also without vsync i cant handle the tearing. I get no lag with vsync just stutter on this one track.

Hello, I have this kind of issue on DX11 and when going on 3D curbs (for example), and we notice it was linked to the animated objects (Flags, Corner workers, ...)
We made a test, disabled all the animations on the track, and the "suttering" is gone.
I think there is an issue in DX11 on that, that is not present in DX9. I have to check this with S397

Why do you like to have higher fps then your monitor hz is (144) = 6,3 ms ?
Use video sync(144 fps with your monitor)), no tearing no stutters game runs smooth.

Ahh VSYNC = VIDEO Sync
Yes it is strange that in some S397/ISI tracks 1080Ti cards have low GPU loads which is causing stutters and also low fps.

strange thing is Fast Sync in NVidia Cp fixes it at NOLA> stuttering goes>! but I heard fast sync is better if your getting 3x your refresh rate - and I'm not :(

also even with vsync on and no triple buffer ive never seen the FPS halve to the refresh rate. ? This is what I read vsync does yet ive never seen it on a 60/144hz display?!
