That I've never seen anybody drive the wrong way on the track in rF2 and that I don't want that crap coming over here, never once did I mention rF1.

Edit: Checks, yep, I'm in the rF2 forum.

Just because you hav'nt seen it does'nt mean its never happened! but fine if you want empty servers then be happy we're not on Steam. Dont forget moving to Steam would bring new decent drivers for leagues that you could race in, it's not all bad ya know!

Stupid people are everywhere, In RF2 luckily, not usually seen very often but in AC the ratio is quite high right now.

I think you answered your own question earlier in that post:
If you mean 'more complete' then yes, I fully agree.

And yes, rf1 has been bypassed by its successor, of course. But marking it as simcade is weird because I always thought simcade was something designed to be in-between arcade and simulation.
rfactor1 was never designed to be inbetween those 2, it was designed as a sim, as is iracing and GPL.

Because using your terms when rf3 implements injuries to its project, where simdrivers can actually get injured or worse when crashing, that would immediately mark rf2 as simcade. because we didn't die innit.....

Something was purposely designed and as such I don't think we can downgrade it because of our opinions on the matter. it still is what it is. a sim. not as flashy when looking back but still a sim?

I already had that covered actually. When I first tried rF2 I had FFB effects set to max and my wheel was shiny new. I hit something and the FFB was so strong I wrenched my thumb really bad. It was sore for a few weeks, I thought maybe I had sprained it!

Whatever the next gen sim will be will make the previous gen sims less sim-like. The design of the game is antiquated and lacks the features to be considered a sim. I guess all those older sims are still sims, but as a mental exercise, ask yourself what a sim is. Is it the tire modelling? The way the weight transfers? If a mod does the same times on certain tracks as the real cars do, is it a sim? Features? People seem to arbitrarily pick out the features they think are sim-like and ignore others. Rain is the perfect example. No real world non-oval racing series races with no wet conditions ever, it's as much of a feature of racing as the tires themselves- yet people consider lots of sims hardcore which lack rain. How is that so?

Everyone knows what a sim is (it's like porn- I can't define porn but I know it when I see it) and there are varying levels of sims. rF2 and iRacing are right up in terms of features. The more I learn about AC the more I wonder how it is considered a sim though. Same with pCARS. The term sim and semi-sim is arbitrary and meaningless.

Well based on features, Grand Prix 3 would still be up there with iRacing and rF2 as a sim then. I just discovered what all you can do in GP3, for example it keeps track of tire sets and the number of laps you have driven with them (screenshot below). And it has a "realistic" weather function built in, which is at least more realistic than manually defining weather before event. Also damage is more realistic, car can actually go into a million of pieces, with just the monocoque remaining. Etc etc, I haven't discovered half of what this sim offers yet...

The tire component has been there since GP2, not to mention in GP3 you get marshalls pushing cars, pitcrew working, and a mechanic wiping the visor :p.

The driving backwards is a developer issue IMO. This has been around for as long as online racing has existed. And plenty of games have solved it. You can immediately give them a black flag and send them to the DSQ screen. You can also turn them into a ghost when driving backwards. It's an issue of a game being popular. The more people there are, the more stupid people there are going to be. They made a great move with Steam, they just need to understand other developers have addressed this issue years ago and pick a solution for how to stop it.

Never had a room you with a group of guys kicked back and did off roading in Historics Spa , Monza . Longford etc ?

Ever past another Eve F1 opposite way ( 380 mph impact ) and missed them by a few inches ..............have you heard the sound and the ambient noise as you go by them ??? ........................ OH MY ...

That is a shame you missed great fun :)

I always like to test damage myself what better way then a impact speed of around 280 mph in a couple of F3's

WHY you ask FOR FUN !!!

I mean there is no allowing for peanuts ......... guys that drive backwards by themselves when people are not fooling about I seen like 2 in my room in 2 years.
