Just wondering if there are any plans to get RF2 on steam? The exposure the sim would get would be fantastic, really bringing in a lot of new faces.
I know the answer is already no, well, from memory But comments like.... Make no sense whatsoever. I'm not even posing a "for Steam" argument, but more people playing rFactor 2 could never be a bad thing. More money for ISI, more people to race against......
http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/17090-rfactor-2-on-steam Have a read through and see how much has been discussed to death already.
No plans. We'd have to raise price by 30% on Steam to offset the loss of it being there, and Steam doesn't allow it. But basic answer is no, no plans to.
30% ! gosh steam must be milking it ! I've always wondered what steams % comission was yep agreed, keep rf2 away from steam at all costs ! ( but maybe a good idea to get the rf2 auto updater functioning with 100% reliability as quickly as poss )
Some titles they get a little less but some they can go to the 40% range. It's absurd and only really worth it if there are no other means of distribution. This must be what, the fourth time someone asks about this here?
Fair enough but I can't help thinking a smaller share of more money will work out better than a larger share of fewer sales. Plus in such a community oriented game more people will only lead to more people, so more money in your pocket. Disappointed to see some of the elitist stuff some of the community are coming up with. Surely more people racing is a good thing. Some will suck but some will learn and become the brilliant league drivers you face in spectacular races. Rf2 really is a brilliant sim, by far the best on the market and I want to see the league's thriving on an influx of new talent. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
Many people buy games through steam only these days, so surely there will be at least a degree of increase in sales that would reduce the need of 30% price increase. Personally I am fine without steam, but to get more than 100 people online something needs to be done.
I already buy the game on your site, i appreciate your partecipation in the comunity ecc ecc. But, come on, probably on steam you sell 2x, 3x, even 4x the copy you sell on your site... You think every company who sell the game on steam is just stupid?? Said that, i think, if you continue to sell the game on your site (losing 60%-80% of potential clients) at least you could make a package containing every car and track... Sell the game with no car, and required separated download for every track and car in my opinion is just "bad".
I always had the feeling that ISI have one of the best products in their hands but they don't really care about promoting it. rF2 is great but the official videos, default UI, etc don't make justice to their product and at the end is what people see before buying it or even going to try it. Steam could give them more exposure but without a proper promotion of it and making it more user-friendly it would be the same I guess.
