This little track is a ton of fun and it's not far from 1.0 standards. It was a scratch-built track using BTB, so it doesn't have a lot of the quick conversion problems. I'd like to organize a small group to finish this track. The AI needs some work, but apparently if someone can help them out of the pits, they are not so bad It needs an HDR profile or two from Tosch. And it needs someone with some 3DMax skills to refine a few things here and there--but nothing that is an emergency. Can I ask for some people who would be willing to step forward to acknowledge here and then we can do a quick plan of attack? I am of no use technically, but would happily co-ordinate the effort and test, etc., as I have enjoyed the labour of so many others for so many years. Thanks to all who reply and to Luca for not allowing this track to die just because he is unable to complete it.
Can't run the track in devmode. It takes 5 minutes until the track is loaded (maybe it has something to do with 130MB!!! cbash file, new world record), if you click race, devmode crashes.
Does this mean the work on this is kaput? Anyone have any ideas? It would be a tremendous shame to lose a viable track...it's not like there are very many out there being worked on
I think all track files and original 3dsmax file is needed to troubleshoot this. This kind of crash can be caused sooo many things... Cheers!
Well, unfortunately those were lost. This is a very sad outcome and ultimate waste of a lot of effort
There's still hope - Travaller's import/export scripts for Blender Not sure about status of that project, though. And there are of course other tools. One could salvage whatever he can from GMT files and try to work from there. In the worst case, textures can be reused.
Sorry, I have no time myself. I just pointed out that it could be possible to import things to 3D Modelling program from GMT files. If I had time, I'd rather spend it working on shaders anyway.
