Hey guys. I just realized it's been about 3 1/2 months since my last update. Clearly I am terrible at guesstimating how much time is needed. The track isn't ready for public consumption just yet. Getting closer though. I think the extra time will pay off in the end. I added the new rain shader to the race surface. It appears the drying path created is much more sensitive to the poly mesh density than it is to the real road rubber path. I am having to increase the density of the current surface. Also working with LilSki to match the character of the racing surface to try to match what you feel in AC. Which is a little harder than a normal model conversion. Since the two sims go about generating the surface in very different ways. I have finished up the garage area and night lighting. Adding ambient occlusion shadows. I don't think they ever raced here at night. Not much in actual track facility lighting. So I went ahead and added night lights to some RV's, flash bulbs. Had a little fun, got creative and made some animated trash can fires. As well as an animated marquee on the Goodyear blimp. Here are some screens of my latest progress
Well that's the difference between doing something right and just slopping something together. I really appreciate you taking the time to do this right. I did some more mesh experiments the other night. I got it really driving like the moon in AC so it should hopefully now translate to the low res mesh rF2 uses. I'll hopefully have something for you by the weekend.
Thanks Chris. Maybe someday. I know it wouldn't be super popular but I'd love make a Stock Car Resurrection 1988 mod.
Avidly following this, thanks for the work, @toebee. Hopefully it all goes well and you consider more of Lilski's circuits in the future.
I really really love you stockcar mod. I great for cruising around in longford and hear the engine brubbeling Would be awsome if there were some “outlaws“ with drag slicks and a big blower I can barely feel the nitro in the lungs I know this track will be a blast
I see LilSki did other vintage USA tracks like Bridgehampton. With Mosport, ST Jovite, Laguna Riverside, Road America, Mid Ohio & Watkins Glen, a near Proper Can-Am season could be crafted.
That would be pretty cool. Something that would be close to your Stock Car Resurrection would be a 1960s TransAm series. But again, any work you do will be an instant download to my library LilSki's Watkins Glen would be a great addition. A non-LilSki track that would be great is the recently released Goodwood. But back to topic. Other conversions can wait till Riverside is done
Take your time, when it's right it'll be right... Now with that said....HURRY! I NEED my Riverside....
Apologies for the disappearance guys. I've had some health issues that has kept me from doing anything very productive on the PC. Hoping to get back to it eventually.
ARE YOU KIDDING? Health issues???? Transfer your consciousness into an AI bot and FINISH. (try Google for AI transfer, I'm SURE it is a fairly simple and reasonably safe procedure.)
Looking great Toebee! If this ends up anything like Watkins Glen that was recently finished then RF2 will have another epic must have track..which I'm sure it will be..keep up the great work and look forward to driving this legend
thanks for info toebee hoping you are ok now and if you need i wish you can find help for your great Riverside's conversion project
