Yeah, this is a render - but it's all at a decent polycount. Only just layed out the main track. It's based on LiDAR data, from an official HQ-source. I'm on a pretty steep learning curve here so I have no idea how long this project is gonna take me...
yep... learning curve is a steep drop lol... looks great Wizper... really like the elevation change in the middle section... looks like fun
Wow, nice start! This track is the kind of track I really enjoy. Looks like fast flowing, but the elevation changes will likely be very interesting! Are you already familiar with modeling? Or are you learning this as well? I'm pretty sure some people could help you out with rFactor 2 stuff, like real road, reflections and stuff, if you aren't too sure. Once you'll know, making new one will take a fraction of the time it took you to make this one! Really nice start anyway, keep it up! EDIT: Curious, where is this track located?
Piste Danoise http://dmka.dk/test/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=14&Itemid=27 Google my friend
I've made a track back in 2009 with a friend for Race'07, "Jyllandsringen" - and I know the gmotor2 very well and have worked with it in GTR2, GTL, Race07 and rfactor, but rfactor2 offers alot of new features/techniques/shaders, and this time it'll be modeled in 3dmax only. I chose NOT to convert my old track cause it simply wouldn't be good enough, and I have LiDAR for that one and a few others too... Thank you for the support
Accuracy of the elevation data is about 2cm +/- - I've been testing some techniques for using them best possible, and it looks very promising
Excellent news Wizper. My friends and I had some great races @Ring Djursland when we ran rFactor1. I look forward to seeing more information and screens from you. Good luck with the project.
Thanks, I'm still in the process of modeling roads, graveltraps, paddock and terrain - still no textures or objects, so not that exciting graphicly yet. I'll be getting lots of reference photos soon, thanks to www.grippingmedia.dk and www.racemag.dk for supporting the project
Just a little "proof-of-concept-shot", terrain is not all done yet and as you can see gravel traps are not either.
Keep it going and glade to know you are making it from scratch instead of converting it! I will follow this one, because the layout seems very interesting! Thanks
Looks like this is in good hands. Take your time and do it right, but don't hesitate to have some of the other very talented people on here help out! Thanks in advance for all your efforts.
Superfedt! Great surprise to find this project! Nice to see that Kim and Bo are supporting you with good material
