Yes. I just wanted to confirm that the opposite is true for me :)

Long story short, I tried the update feature for the very first time this build and it was extremely fast and everything worked fine but, being a "full build" man I then uninstalled rf2 completely and installed b198 from fresh.

Put my saved Packages folder back in and found the same thing as you Adrian, I didn`t have to re-install anything in Mod Manager as everything was sitting there already installed.

With every previous build I`ve had to put my Packages folder back in the rf2 install and then re-install the contents of the Packages folder in Mod Manager but not this time. I too found this to be a little strange, purely as it`s never happened before...

    Hi tjc

This would tell me that perhaps not everything was removed.

AFAIK for next time if it's for the same computer you can backup a folder called .rFactor from the hidden directory C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\.rFactor before formatting your machine, and get it back right after. It will not work if it's another computer. At least, I read this process somewhere here...

This doesn't seem right. You first auto-updated to b198? Looks like you uninstalled rF2, but core folder remains intact (happened to me several times. sometimes uninstaller delete folder, sometimes not). When I uninstall rF2 I look for content in windows registry too and delete.

Maybe I'm wrong and you did uninstall it correctly but it can't be possible to have mods already installed  Only explanation I can think of is that your core folder was never deleted (or something else strange. it can't have been completely removed...)

Be careful when you point an issue! The good guys from the Forum Police will label you as a "whiner" or something, tell you to play something else, etc. Caution!

    Ok thanks for responses
Putting the exciting update/installation subject to the side for a moment

    Can I ask the question:

I see no difference in this build to the last ( apart from rain enabled )

I'm not having a dig I'm just wondering if something wrong at my end etc

    ????????????

Paying customers...can complain about a product needing work or improvement...not everything is sunshine and roses because some people say its so...
If no one points out what needs improvement we risk loosing interest in this (could-be-really-great) sim...

Cars seem a bit more predictable ( think that is something to do with controllers), Clio's don't seem to roll anymore , was hitting the curbs quite hard at Lime Rock and it behaved like I think it should . Basically just feels a bit more drivable .

    Thanks

That's the good thing about rf2 (&rf1) it has a good connected fluid feel to it providing one has no noticable lag as long as one dosnt push pc to hard (with ultra high settings)

Updated old content / silverstone track / generic f1's (based on MR01 I think) is what I'm now looking forward too

Hopefully will not be to long

    Mmm...

Don`t think it can be this guys as I completely uninstalled rf2 from Control Panel > Programs and Features > rf2 then manually removed everything that was left in the folder... then reboot and check again that everything has been removed. I always do it this way and have never had a problem before. Not that it`s really a "problem" as such, it`s just never happened before as I say so it`s a bit strange.

Btw, I have all rf2 content in the rf2 folder... nothing is installed anywhere else other than my rf2 folder.

I agree, I feel an improvement on physics too.

Anyway, it seems build notes are too far now on this page #21 for some, so here it is again for everybody convenience:

    http://rfactor.net/web/rf2/devscorner/rfactor2-build-notes/#198

Thanks ISI, great build for me, really happy! :)

Edit: for the installation I just run the lite installer pointing on my current rF2 installation and data folders and all went fine no need to install mods again, etc. I hope it was the way to proceed...

    tj

Did you check also in the C:/Program Files (x86) for any left overs, because i've had that before,
that is assuming you have your install in the default directories.

Edit:scratch that mate just read your post again lol...dunno then tj...strange one
