Hi everyone, So my brother recently bought a new PC and installed rFactor 2 on Sunday 10th December. It worked fine all of Sunday and Monday morning but when we both got home from school on Monday afternoon, we discovered that rFactor 2 would no longer start without crashing. I have seen a fix for this issue where you click 'Force 32-bit' but when we try that, we get a Microsoft Visual C++ error message instead. If anyone knows of a fix for this issue, please contact me immediately. An added note. A massive thank you to everyone who replied but nothing was working so we did basically a factory reset on rFactor2 and now it's working Thanks, Peter.
Can you try right clicking the game on steam, go to properties, local files, verify integrity of game files?
maybe some download of a mod or track didn't go well, I would uninstall an item then try again until you find the culprit.. or have deleted them all
Hey Dimitrios i took little break from league racing..you are very kind thank you hope to see you online soon, take care..
did you maybe install new gpu drivers?if you did check your video settings in launcher, because sometimes resolution is not selected,it stays blank.
Have a look the antivirus sometimes it clean what you don't want. Try to unninstall completely the game and look for the files that are not cleaned and install another time all the game.
If I remember correctly, but it was before Steam, there are RF2 files stored in C: user Don't know the correct path, but it's a windows folder, inside it you went to change (for example) displayed name in game.. Ahh here it is https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/cant-change-my-online-nickname.54399/ Maybe something is corrupted here, would explain why reinstalling don't fix it.
Hi, this is marked as solved but how ? the last about is about nickname but how that's related to this issue ? I got the same trouble, after choosing (single player) the track/car I want, I launch the loadind etc.... it start to show me the session windows but automatically crash. I've joined a log. I've reinstalled / re verified the game several times etc ..... I need support from Studio 397 ... please helpe me people
@antton The bottom of the first post, they 'factory reset' rF2 and it started working. I'm not sure what that means. But I think their issue was different to yours, it looks like theirs wouldn't even load to the main menu. I would suggest starting your own thread, or finding one on this issue specifically - I think there have been a couple recently on crashing when the track loads.
