Hello! I have following problem: I had steam account with my ex and we shared it with nicknames also. Then i bough other rf2 copy to other steam account, so I can play rF2 everysecond (780 hours now on steam ) rF2 still uses my old nickname from wrong steam account, and everytime i change it from player.json, it will go back to wrong steam release nickname already tried to re-install rF2, but did not help. So what should I delete to make this work? My steam name is also different than in game.
Go to C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\.rFactor and you'll find rFactor.name, open it with notepad and change 3rd line.
Just make sure when you change it , you set it as read only. that will fix it from re writing back to old username......
Afaik thats wrong. rFactor2 indeed use the files in this path. Not sure, if the steam version allready use the files, but the non steam version of rFactor2 definitly did.
yes the standalone has this appdata / roaming thats correct but in steam version i cant find appdata/roaming and why you need it for standalone If iam correct you cant go online with that anymore , or am i wrong
Doesn`t matter, if you play online or not, you need the files to verify your installation and activation.
