Will there be a setting to control how much spray there is, or will it be a set amount for everyone (with the quality controlled by special effect/particle settings)?

Personally I like lots of spray, but some people might want to see better.

I actually don't know if a setting can alter it.

The amount of spray I have seen depends on how wet the track is, etc. In stormy conditions you literally can see nothing, so you have to move out to the edge of the spray to see the edge of the track beside you. Very tough to be at the back of the grid.

Sounds brilliant! And realistic as it should be. Really can't wait for this update. :)

    Thanks for the reply.

What about aquaplaning? When we have spray and aquaplaning someone have to hold a new wet 1 hour Brabham-race again :D

Looks great. I hope you keep it 3DVision ready as I play exclusively in stereoscopic 3D and so far all effects render depth correctly so I hope this keeps up the tradition :)

Please don't break stereoscopic 3D with new effects! RF2 is almost perfect and imho the most immersive piece of software in stereoscopic 3D.

This would make sense for offline play but it surely can't be adjusted for online play. Otherwise we'd all just turn down the amount of spray to be quicker.

Been waiting for this aspect of wet weather since the inception of the beta, excited to try it for myself!

Tim, is there a big fps hit with this effect implemented?

Here are a few happy snaps I took from the treacherously wet 1989 Australian GP in Adelaide:

It'd be cool if we could recreate these sort of effects in-game.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

    1. In real life its soooooooooooooo bad (comming from my own experience and 15 years of watching, reading and learning about F1 and race in general). Also, I have read and heard from F1 drivers that have said that at some points the visibility is almost none and they are LITERALLY just listening for when the car in front brakes (when they are close to it to hear it) as they cant even see where on the track they are.

    2. Also Tim I hope you mention this to the devs, I have experienced this in real life, and Martin Brundle even mentioned it the other night during the F1 race, and that is that the rain always seems much worse on your visor than it actually is. There are times when it is BARELY spitting, but on your visor it looks like a normal decent amount of rainfall, yet the track is almost completely dry and you over slow down (sometimes slowing down is barely necessary at all as the rain is honestly that light). Or itll look like its CRAZY POURING but it really is only raining a normal amount. Its very deceiving and gives the impression things are more wet/rain coming down much harder than it actually is.

    3. In real life, a track is EXTRA slippery when it hasnt been rained on in a long time, and the track is just starting to get wet in the early stages, because all the oils and crap from the surface rise, and make it surface super slippery, this would be cool to be modeled but honestly not important at these stages.

Just giving you some info Tim :)
