I'm enjoying the atmospherics, but man...those missing shadows is quite a blight on the look of this game. The car looks like it's just hovering in mid-air...all we need (at a minimum, anyway) is a blob shadow for distant shots like this :/

At least, that's exactly what I see on replays as well. I don't see that issue on some of the other screenshots. Am I just missing a setting someplace, maybe?

Look at mine and then look at his -mine is with everything turned on, full. That was taken on a very, very beta track and looks like MANY effects are disabled.

Yeah, yours and FONismo's look awesome. But even with everything maxed out, I'm still seeing what vicent has. Shadows disappearing and whatnot.

However, I'm also getting black screen when HDR is turned off, so there's some sort of deeper problem (I'm thinking with rebuilding materials). I'm going to try reinstalling rF2 from scratch and updating my drivers (don't think I ever got the latest nVidia drivers) tonight/this weekend.

All I can say is eat my dust SMS you've bearly a wheel to rest on now, ISI are now showing there way ahead of the competition following this build. This post may not belong here but at this rate its looking quite possible ISI can match if not better SMS for graphics come gold, we almost got everything we need to make this sim the greatest PC race sim ever.
The way I see it if SmS and pCars decide to go total sim they may aswell forget it, if they stay simcade they stand to keep the market feeding of all xbox ps3 and pc arcade race fans of which I was one at one point in my past life, the fact is I got bored after a while with those type games, rF never lost its appeal and never died it offered far mor for racing than and other title, infact it was a youtube video that first introduced me to rF, since then I not really played any other game because the motion of the cars looked second to real.
Its people like BSNismo that are going to sell this product to the public through youtube video audience transforming avid arcade race fans into needing something more demanding dedicated sim racers. Thats the way I got into it and never looked back.

Build 85 has repositioned ISI to the definative driving / racing experience on any format IMHO, all that will be needed is some hardcore aggressive marketing come gold to introduce new people to the software. I feel rF2, ISI and there sim racing model is not as big as it should be which is likely probably due to an almost non existent public promotional and marketing presence that nobody took much notice of when rF first came out.

ISI when gold comes I think its probably time to get an external promotional company in with a proven track record to sell hard for you guys, you definately diserve it get yourselves out there and in the public eye.
