    Trans Am TA2

    Steam Workshop: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2985911376

Trans Am has been around since the 60's when the muscle car wars kicked off and has been going almost every year since. While the tube frame silhouettes took over in the late 70's to 80's, many herald '68-'72 as the best years of the sport when manufacturer involvement was at an all-time high and the cars were purely American.

Storm Gang Simulation has worked in partnership with International Sim Racing to update and fine tune this amazing group of cars. Featuring the 6 most prolific makes of the day:
    - Ford Mustang
    - AMC Javelin
    - Dodge Challenger
    - Chevy Camaro
    - Pontiac Firebird
    - Plymouth Cuda

The Golden Era mod features many updates to the original ISR release including flexible suspension, an overhauled BOP, graphical updates and more. Big thanks to Ben Boorman for his diligent work on the soft body work, Becky Ely for AI improvements and Mehmet for additional contributions.

Special thanks to the Champion Motorsports community for excellent feedback during development.

AMC Javelin - AMC was considered a "small" car company, able to exploit niche markets and its cars were loved by many. It eventually was bought by Chrysler and some of its brands like Jeep still live on today. The Javelin was its gladiator in the David and Goliath story against Ford for the nail-biting 1970 season where it nearly toppled the giant. The AMC is a well-planted, good all-around vehicle. It's a little heavier than the Mustang but can apply power confidently making it a powerful competitor.

Chevrolet Camaro - Ford's longtime rival has had their own pony car in the game since the Mustang's debut. The Camaro has similar characteristics as the Mustang. It's light, transitions well and can move when pushed. But it can be easy to overdrive as well. Expect this car to be a wheelman's favorite, even if it kills them.

Dodge Challenger - Dodge is one of the few remaining giants from Detroit and it has a Hemi in it. The Challenger needs a steady approach. Allow the weight lifting off the front end as you ease off the brakes to initiate a very stable rotation. This stability will allow you to carry speed. You need to get it right first time however as it is difficult to shift the car from its chosen trajectory. Applying power, you should feel quite relaxed about allowing the rear end to step out. If everything isn't too rushed then it will come back into line without any drama. Let the Challenger do things in its own time and it should deliver good pace.

Ford Mustang - During the early days of Trans Am, the Mustang was often on top. Ford all it could to make sure its flagship performance vehicle was number one which led to several championships and domination in the series. The Mustang may be the most accessible of the six cars in the series. It's on its toes, reacts promptly to control inputs and is quite forgiving if you go over the limit. These qualities mean that you can quite productively hustle it along with a variety of driving styles. However, if you fall out of time with its preferred rhythm then you will spend more time wrestling than driving.

Pontiac Firebird - Pontiac managed to leave a legacy in the auto markets, especially with some of its performance vehicles. While they weren't always the fastest, cheapest or most economical, they were usually fun. The Firebird is one of its most lasting legacies and this iteration was one of the first that truly defined the iconic shape of the car. While it lacks top end grunt, it can carry speed deep into braking zones and whip through corners. Expect battles with the hood chicken to be hard fought.

Plymouth Cuda - Another Chrysler brand, the Plymouth Cuda is easily one of the largest cars in the field. It takes work to turn and you're often dancing on the edge, but it's a demon in the straights. The Cuda's girth and straightline speed make it a major obstacle when trying to craft a pass.

    Release notes and features:
    - Most original liveries from the '68-72 seasons
    - Rain and slick bias-ply tire options
    - Able to change left or right side tires
    - Chassis geometry is modeled on real life dimensions and variations between models.
    - Full PBR exteriors

An useful tips from workshop comments

    To beginners.
    BRAKE BIAS
Before you kick these cars for spinning when braking, try adjusting the brake bias in the garage. The cars are set to 50/50 as default which is pretty hard on the rear brakes.
Try something like 56/44 to 60/40 and see what happens.

Can you maybe make the car icons equal size for one of the next updates?
