I hope they don't mess about with Formula Vee too much. Visuals, yes. New tyre model, absolutely. Sound update, perhaps. But that's all it needs, please don't give it handling like the Vee in AMS2...

 

I would say that leaving the current tyres is step 1, 2 and 3 to keep it as good as it drives now...

 

I don't know what's up with the older tyres, now they aren't good anymore. It's like the newest thing is always the best, the newest tyres, the newest car, the newest track, the newest ... and everything else is trash because it isn't new anymore.

 

Considering the "new tyre model" isn't a new model but modified parameter values within the existing one, which can bring about better behaviour (because it's not just applying some blanket modification, but tuning the values for more realistic output), I don't see why it wouldn't be desired. If it changes from the current handling but is more realistic, is that a bad thing? What are we here for?


*Not that I think a tyre update for the Reiza content is a foregone conclusion. A graphic and audio overhaul would probably suffice.

 

They may have stated elsewhere, like Discord perhaps, but I've never seen any mention of physics updates. When you consider they have a subcontractor doing the work, it would be difficult to allow someone not associated with the company's physics work to just drop his idea of physics into these updates. I suspect these updates are graphics only or, at best, at least separating the sound file into mono samples.

 

I think at least one of the cars now has broken sound, so I'd expect at least a simple json conversion for all cars while they're fixing that one.

 

still looking forward to this. Ibarra and Sebring are the reason i fire up rf2 at all nowadays, so having an even better Ibarra will be awesome.

 

If they're going to tune the parameters for the Formula Vee tires, ok, update it but I guess that's going to be a lot of work. If they're just gonna fit the same tires to every car, nope. The new improvements don't necessarily should mean an improvement to the tires of every car, since the manufacturer might have provided data for a range of tires that may not include the tires for the Formula Vee and others. I don't think it's so easy to update the tire model if we want every car to retain their own handling qualities and personality.

I hope they implement the new tire model on F Vee, for sure it won't change too much the natural behaviour of the car, instead it will probably make it more refined to drive...

 

The "new tire model" was mostly S397 improving their way to configuring tires. Reiza is not S397. And "new tire model" is not new tire model.
