Did you try to clean up your rfmod files as @ThomasJohansen suggested?

you could also try to validate files through steam.

Yes. Uninstall and delete all rfmod and validate the files in normal and RC version.

    Edit:
I deleted everything except the "installed" folder, validated and now RC works.

you have this entry in the end of your log file:
"JNIWorkshop. 2165: Warning: Couldn't install component McLaren_Senna_GTR_2019 because one or more required dependencies were not found"

    Just a wild guess....
Maybe you should try to remove the folder:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Installed\Vehicles\McLaren_Senna_GTR_2019
and see if it reinstall it self..

Hello, i tried all workarounds found here and still get a crash on startup.
I was having some issues with "Couldn't find ..." that i have managed to remove by deleting stuff.
Trace looks almost clean without any major issues but it still crashes :(
Here is another rFMini.dmp and log, hoping it can help solve the problem.

    /me opt-out

I just had this issue, crash on startup.

I delete all bin64 folder and userdata folder (keep my controller profile) + then verify integrity steam + then properly reconfigure my rFactor 2 (15 min max) :

    It works.

Maybe i will try removing all UserData folder ... but i'm a bit worried about all that.
I don't want to lose all my plugins setups, controler sets, player.JSON parameters and other thing
that i have passed time on it to work properly.

Now i noticed i can't use the RC at all and my "non RC" game is also broken ...
I will let you find what is wrong below :

    rFactor2 2023-02-12 16-56-59-27.jpg
    I have no words ...

Edit : Just rechecked all files by Steam and everything looks fine now.

An acquaintance of mine was able to launch the RC version by doing the following.

    1,Launch \Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Bin64\ModMgr.exe.
    2,Set Working Dir to \Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\.
    3,Set the Package ID to \Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Packages.
4,Set Viewing check to Mod only.
5,Uninstall and delete all mod files.

It's a bit cumbersome, but I think it's worth trying.

I think the big problem here is the inconsistency between the Package Mgt UI and the use of ModMgr. Whilst @Coutie has acknowledged bugs in the new package system with retaining old version files when it shouldn't, (should be deleted), there are still problems with unneeded vmods and such and missing files/versions that need to be fixed/fixable in the Package Mgr. People are deleting things either directly in the folders or by using ModMgr, but certain shared files are not getting consistently updated between the 2 apps.

While on RC3, I did subscribe to a BTCC car I did not own, to test out the new functionality to race against them (offline), and am happy to report this works. However, conflicting advice was given that the way to fix the old versions being retained was to opt out of the RC, but you were also warned the old app version wouldn't know what to do with the unowned content, so you shouldn't do it. So as of right now, I'm not about to delete files manually or use ModMgr, until such time as (a) Package Mgr is fixed (b) Package Mgr and ModMgr inconsistencies are fixed and (c) the RC has been promoted to the release version.

As I look through the trace files, I'm seeing lots of problems. In some cases it's Workshop non-DLC which has things like too long file names (modders responsibility to fix, but then it seemed to work before), but then I'm also seeing errors for DLC such as Ligier missing info.

Package Mgr will attempt to install any rFmods and associated content found in the Package folder. If the version of the content linked to rFMod is the latest, it's fine, but if it's an older version or has been deleted from the workshop, rF2 will crash trying to refetch the file. The only way to fix this is to uninstall and remove rFMod via ModMgr.exe, or uncheck the automatic update that runs when rF2 starts.

If RC crashes, please do not try to fix it. Please just post rfmini.dmp, trace log files, and revert to opt out until we can fix the crash please.

Running a GT3 McLaren I own offline against Minis I don't at Silverstone GT. AI selected at the start, it runs a couple of corners then the screen goes black and a few moments later the sound stops and I have to hard reset my PC.
    Trace ends
    240.29s main.cpp 352: onFatalError 11

Not at all sure this is an RC fault, I will revert to the release version and try again.

[Edit] I switched to Windowed mode and it ran OK. Back to full screen and it's OK. Deep joy, another hour of my life given over to fault-finding this "game" with no clear outcome

And a suggestion for the server, I was missing the Formula E cars so it would not let me in at first. That is fine, but I had to sort through that lengthy list of included content to discover the missing cars. Would it be possible for the Server to compare it's content with mine and ONLY list the items that I don't have?
