Post your RF2 car skins here.

in the screenshots without working windshield banner but solved the problem now... BUT... why the hell is the front windshield banner there, but the rear one missing?? any explanation very welcome!
here the windshield file - why is the rear banner missing? (see first picture)
Nice livery, Well done.
Shame about the issues but everyone is having the same problems.

I'm personally not going to share new cars or update the old ones till all these bugs are fix.

Yeah, found the same issue. I'm going to go through and fix all of my installed skins this weekend. I have not gone through the GT3s, but I do know about the Orecas so far.

1. Seems that the .veh have been renamed in the newest update. You will need to change the reference .veh in the .rcd
Ok, Chris, I have been trying to use your 38 IMSA skin without sucess. Just what should I edit the veh line in the rcd to?

1. Seems that the .veh have been renamed in the newest update. You will need to change the reference .veh in the .rcd
2. The new skin file name is longer than 12 characters. I see this as being a bigger issue in the future as "alt" takes up 3 of the available characters. My personal naming convention of YY Series _ Manufacturer ## (ex 18IMSA_Oreca38.dds) is all ready too long, and then I have to have "alt" in it
3. In speaking of "alt", that is now needed. That may not prevent the car from showing up ingame, but the custom skin will not load with out it.

A future improvement that I hop S397 will take into consideration
1. Having a longer file name limit
2. One issue I have seen a lot on here lately, is that modders have the file names, named as the driver names. The reason behind that is that it will show the driver name in the standings. Unfortunately becomes an issue when one driver drives in 2 different cars. The game will only show one car, or none at all. I feel that there should be a driver name field in the .rcd so that the file names can be completely separate from the driver name.
3. Personal preference - the .rcd should be replaced by the current format of the .veh file. Things like GENStrings should be editable from the mod car, and be completely separate from a reference car. Painting Endurance Series mod cars can be a bit difficult if you don't have a Liger with Michelin tires, HPD engine, a certain brake lights etc. I hope that makes sense.

ahhh, i found the new VEH filenames for the Oreca and went and changed them. But still havent figured out how to get rid of the 'original' cars shader of which the skin is on (see shot below)

I did change the skin filenames to xxxxxxalt.dds for those which didnt have it, as did i change the veh file name to the new name it was supposed to have.

Havent figured out how to get rid of the shader/gleam thats over every car with a reskin.

Thanks a bunch btw, also for your skins & contribution! :)

Posted this last night https://forum.studio-397.com/index....e-rfactor-2-1-1112-now-available.61715/page-6

Easy fix for skins not working.
Create a alt for one off the new cars. This will put a folder in your setting.
index.php

Copy the folders name and pasd in the rcd file
index.php

Now the skins will show.

Known issue. These cars don't have a region. They don't really need one because they will load and use the default one in the Main car Mas that contains all the cars textures.
Issue is the person who put that folder (Mas) together annoyingly but all to common put a livery and it's region into the Main Mas instead off a blank White car and a base region.
This means the region will ghost through your livery add-on so those "who can" will have to make a base region with Car Paint. Which "should" be the default !!! To cover over someone else's rubbish.
Sorry for that, Wasn't me. I know better!

Totally agree if 397 want to remove the creation of new skins from the mas file with virtual rides the rcd file needs to be able do everything the veh file does this includes classes and categories which currently when they are used the talent parameters stop working which is a pet hate of mine hopefully one day the whole virtual ride element will get some dev attention as it’s very clunky atm

I had done a few Imsa skins oreca and some gtd ones I am on holidays atm with no pc I will look at mine and correct them on my return next week hopefully 397 will have ironed a few more bugs out by then

I suck at making skins but is it okay to make a single request here?
I am a big fan of audi team WRT and their liveries.

Any chance anyone can make one? Preferably 2016 but anything is okay for me.

Oreca 07 skin updates.
These skins are updated to the latest S397 updates. They will show up in the car list and showroom you can also drive these skins but the AI will still not use custom skins at the moment. Delete existing files from your computer and then reinstall new files, the safest way. Or you can let the new files over write the older ones. Personally I do not like the way the Orecas look now, mine and S397 skins, hate the horrible sheen these cars have now, so unnatural. Oh by the way red and green fantasy Jumbo car. I like them. Enjoy.

As for that Oreca skin i was working on...

Getting the pin striping was a major pain. Spend a mojority of the time wait to load into track to be able to get better views. It's not 100% accurate, but close enough.

Thanks to Boxer for the Pagenaud Helmet and Penske driver suit. Sorry i didn't take the time to change the Indycar sponsors. Just got burnt out working on this one.
