Anyway here is the specific link: template: --->https://mega.nz/file/HopTmJTT#KBWxdVwxdDcfTOLnX7G4dnramp70qvn2t9NwN-4jgPQ ======================= Templates are stored into your rFactor folder "Templates" NOTE: D2EV_<vehnumber>EXTRA0.dds in use for painting inner body in flat color. ======================== ======================== Long, long time ago, in 2015, I planned to develop this amazing car, the Palatov Motorsport D2 in several classes, like in real life: - ROAD COUPE (street legal) - ROAD ROADSTER (street legal) - RACE ROADSTER - CUSTOM (like the purpose of the D4, options for any engine, any body, any gear transmission and any tire to be tested by potential owners) For several reasons and other incoming projects we always postponed the development… then, at the beginning of 2017 Gilles Benoit fell in love with the sinuous lines of the car (!) and started modeling it; Chris modeled several technical parts too. Then Mr. Palatov, in 2018, revealed to work on a new D2 named D2EV, Electric Vehicle to be ready to race the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in June 2019! We started modeling this specific car and working on physics… in the meantime our “resources” decreased because of few of us, that always participated to the project for love and for free, for different reasons and for life duties no longer had the time that similar projects deserve… but slowly anyway we went some step ahead. Several parts of the D2EV were very original, very confidential and we never shared info with this community, but few days ago at PPIHC2019 Greg Tracy #5 got the 2nd place in the Unlimited Class, 9th overall and we took the decision to open this thread to present our project. https://twitter.com/palatov/status/1145756075519610882 https://twitter.com/palatov/status/1145673585207345152 On the web you will find several info about the competition and the Palatov D2EV, but I like to add few unpublished photos of these last days at Pikes Peak. Coming back to the development of the mod, sincerely I don’t know IF and WHEN the mod will can be available to the public… with a lot of efforts we are now working on the development of the Formula 3 2019 and the physics of the D2EV, the one 4WD with 3 electric motors is not easy at all: the power is something of unthinkable… we have a projection of 1342hp (max theoretically available 1440hp) only tamed by the throttle map, 0 to 9000 rpm in a while, about 3350 lbs (including oversize batteries)! In conclusion we planned to add the D2EV to the list of the classes shown above. And now I can show pictures of few details of the the D2EV Next post will show more of the D2EV ingame. Thank you for the time spend in reading the thread and you know, everybody that would like to participate to the project, for free, is always very welcome!
Marco - you and your group continually astound me with your interesting and fun projects. What a fine surprise this one is Great photos of the D2EV@Pike's. Going to check this out some more. Wish I was a talented modder too.
The Palatov D2 looks very promising! I'm very curious how he will drive. The models released so far are doing great and are a lot of fun! Hope that will be exactly the same with the D2.
Hi Marco. I wanted to know if this project is likely to be successful soon, given the limited resources you have. Good luck anyway !
The big problem here is that Mr. Palatov has and had no time to spend for us... Several times in the past years I sent him few updates of the mod in development for the D2EV, the electric vehicle that ran PPIHC, the street "road coupe" and the "race coupe", but not with standing his great interest and love for the mod, as I said, he had no time to spend on it. He used the private build of the D2EV years ago also for helping the development of the real car, but then and now he must dedicate all his time to the company and his workshop! We have few pending things, some can be made or updated on the current model, but other things are impossible to do without his direct involvement and also the help of his factory driver. In addition the enormous power of the electric unit and some specific features are very difficult to be adapted to rFactor2, due to the limitation in the code, never fixed by S397, even if I sent to ISI the patented technology used by Palatov and that they agreed to add to the rFactor2 code. Of course also the 3d needs some change, but the main matter and question could be: must we continue to develop the mod to release it to the public without the validation and factory tests with the current limits?
Thank you for that answer. To your question, my personal opinion is that no, unfortunately. But other people would have a different opinion. Good continuation.
We got a lot of new pictures of the D2 from Mr. Palatov, with a lot of details and new additions to the body that Gilles is modeling... The street legal and racing coupe car that Palatov Motorsports sells, as well as the EV coupe have roof and the top parts of the doors in carbon... Also if the pictures are referring to the body without the additional parts, this is a preview of how roof looks.
After 2 years of silence, here we are to inform that the Palatov D2EV is finished! In the years the car was constantly updated by Mr. Palatov to improve performances and we also updated and added new details and tuned the physics of this monstre: oversize batteries dispense 75KWh to an e motor of 1,000 KW = 1,342+ hp The D2EV has specific interiors, instruments, seats... but same body and now on will be focused on releasing also the coupe and roadster models, both in street and race configuration...
I did few quick tests with AIs (I didn't get the eX Zero) and, despite are almost different, seems that, as they are, there are good chances to fight together
