The old settings had many flaws, and fundamentally did not work well. With many behaviours it did not account for as well as being an extremely difficult system to manage since every single track could have an array of extremely random settings. The wall riding is only strict on strict mode which as explained on the document is intended for eSports where only a perfect lap is allowed. And even then that only applies in non race sessions. On default setting you pretty much have to wall ride for a full second with full throttle to be penalised, which is behaviour unfit for a serious simulation anyway.
OK, but how should it be set for "Formula one" and "Formula e"? A certain time is given and the best time is scored. No matter how many laps are completed.

I don't follow your question? Default should be fine for the majority of situations. If it's too strict the next release will have a relaxed mode.
Elaborating on this by @Rui Santos : Are sparks an fps killer fot you? I used the asr formula cars in sebring and i just saw that - when sparks do happen - there are small image hickups / fps drops (i am using special effects on medium because on low no sparks are visible). Is this also the case for you guys?
I also use in medium PE, no freezes or hickups, never had a problem with sparks or rF2 performance lately...
Those hickups are veryyyyyyyyyyy very tiny tbh. Anyway, i will recheck my settings. Thanks @Rui Santos !
